Jokes aside, for people who don't know, vx-underground ingests roughly 30,000 malwares a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Usually every couple of days I sync them to vx-underground. It totals like, 200,000 malware thingies. However, these giant volumes of malware come from anti-malware vendors who graciously donate them to us. In my entire existence of vx-underground I have never had some unironically try to infect me with malware. I think it's because (not memeing) they know I'm a malware guy and I'll happily bonk their malware with a stick for fun. Once I've bonked it, and post about it on social media, any malware infrastructure I've identified would be shared to over 400,000 people, effectively destroying their malware campaign. It would burn them. They'd have to spin up new infrastructure and do a bunch of work. Basically, in a bit of irony, the malware guy who writes malware and bonks malware wants malware, but the malicious malware people don't want to send me their malware because it could potentially cause problems for their malware. I have bonked myself with my malware greed.
