@TamanishaJohn Antigua and Barbuda isnt "pushing" anything. Their OAS and US ambassador is expressing a widely held (though not publicly expressed) sentiment among a number of Caribbean diplomats. The feeling that her position has become untenable is more widely held than people may think.

Something weird is going on here, not only in Antigua now pushing for Barnett to resign, but also Antigua sharing that they’d support Trinidad & Tobago for UNSC non-permanent seat even with alignment with US imperialism AND wanting TT to put forward the new Secretary General 🤔
CNC3TV@CNC3TV

Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the United States and the Organization of American States (OAS), Sir Ronald Sanders is urging the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary General, Dr. Carla Barnett to consider tendering her resignation amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding her reappointment to the post. Feels like a big night for so many reasons. Firstly, obviously, to reach the Semifinal. But also to restore some faith and lift the mood. To build a morsel of confidence for Sunday. And for the manager to assess who he thinks he can potentially count on at the Etihad.

1. Why should the Jews have their own homeland? 2. Why not the Kurds? Lebanese Christians? Lor in Persia? Baloch in Pakistan/Iran? Hazara in Afghanistan? 3. Would these groups have the right to ethnically cleanse their neighbours and call it self-defence? Why or why not? How would you expect their neighbours to react in this scenario? 4. Does that mean that Jews outside their "own homeland" aren't truly British/French/American etc...? 5. Does this imply that dual loyalty is real? 6. What should you do about that?
Simon Fox@SimonFoxWriter

I believe the Jewish people MUST have their own homeland. And I believe the Jewish people have an undeniable right to DEFEND it & themselves. Apparently, that makes me a Zionist. OK, then. So be it.

Actions have consequences. France under Macron has made itself irrelevant as a global powerbroker. You can’t expect to be taken seriously after recognizing a state that doesn’t have a capital, territory, leadership of unified political structure, as the French did with “Palestine”.
Imtiaz Mahmood@ImtiazMadmood

France’s exclusion from the Washington Israeli-Lebanese talks should have been a diplomatic scandal, a historic ally locked out of the most significant Lebanon negotiation in thirty years. But Beirut didn’t protest, didn’t lobby for French inclusion, and didn’t even notice. That silence is the real verdict. France spent decades posturing as Lebanon’s guardian, hosting summits, drafting frameworks, and performing concern from the chandeliered rooms of the Élysée, while Hezbollah’s arsenal swelled from fifteen thousand rockets to two hundred thousand under the watch of French UNIFIL troops who enforced nothing. Macron proposed Paris as the venue for these very talks, drafted a recognition plan, and personally called Aoun, Salam, and Berri, and previously Mikati, to choreograph a French-led diplomatic triumph. Today, Lebanon and Israel are sitting across from each other at the State Department in Washington, brokered by Marco Rubio and mediated by the American Ambassador to Beirut, Michel Issa, who is of Lebanese origin and remains a Lebanese. France was not just sidelined, it was rendered irrelevant by its own record of performing diplomacy without producing a single enforceable outcome. The bridge Macron wanted to claim credit for was built by others, and the cruelest part isn’t that France was excluded, it’s that nobody in Beirut objected. - @BecharaGerges

@scottjwillis Teams need flair players. Who can make things happen with a bit of magic. An Ozil, or a Cesc. Someone who can carry/ferry, like Wilshere. Someone who has top skill, like Santi or Rosicky. We have a lot of workmanlike players, no magicians. Eze & Tross are the closest to that.

I think a lot of teams that are “fun” or “stylish” often have either an astronomical financial advantage over the rest of the league or play defensively fragile style that leads to back and forth games. The exceptions are pretty rare IMO

PSG could afford to play Norgaard in midfield for 99% of their domestic season and it would not hinder them at all. Arsenal cannot. They do not have the luxury of playing against weak sides every single week or asking for games to be posponed to help them. No prem side can.
Trillsar ✟ #ARTETAOUT@Trillsar271

Vitinha has played 50 games this season but has only played 1969 ligue 1 mins Zubimendi has played 47 games this season but has played 2680 prem mins Norgaard has played 56 prem mins, Nwaneri 165 mins. Arteta coaching masterclass 🔥🔥🔥

We should just give Saka the Ledley King treatment, he's done for the season let's try and get through tonight and roll him out for the CL Semis and hopefully final, then he can have his surgery and miss the World Cup. That'll do.

It’s hard to say without knowing how the final 6-8 weeks go. I think you would and should have a conversation and reflection about things. I also think that if you rely on a binary trophy = stay you’re setting up for a bad decision process

Kind of obvious what the issue is. Mikel Arteta is now devoting himself solely to Managing The Vibe and Creating a Cool Atmosphere. And there is literally no one anywhere in the world you would want less to manage a vibe and create a cool atmosphere than Mikel Arteta

Mehdi Hasan can’t stop lying. He just lied on air that Israel’s nuclear program is bound by UN Security Council Resolution 487 under Chapter VII, the only framework that creates binding enforcement. Resolution 487 literally does not invoke “Chapter VII”. You know which does? Resolution 1737, which requires the Islamic Republic of Iran to suspend its nuclear activities. He’s understandably upset Israel and the US stopped his Islamist friends getting nukes, but that’s no excuse to lie to me, to Piers, and most importantly to the audience. @piersmorgan, fact check your guests. Your audience deserves better. @mehdirhasan

There is no credible evidence that Iranian authorities “killed at least 42,000 innocent, completely unarmed, protestors” in the riots and protests two months ago. HRANA, a widely cited Iran rights monitor, reported on January 27 that protests had led to 42,324 arrests, not 42,000 killings. The group, which is funded in part by the U.S. government, published on February 23 a ~1,350-page report, it’s most comprehensive account, which documented 7,007 deaths overall — broken down as 6,488 adult protesters, 236 minors, 207 security force members, and 76 non-participants. Iranian authorities have noted 3,117 deaths because of the actions of armed rioters who infiltrated the protests, and about 3,000 arrests.

I'd be more offended by this sort of thing if it wasn't fully priced into Trump by now. Still doesn't justify anyone lying to cover for it. Can we at least agree that, even if you like Trump for instrumental reasons, we'd be better off if the next GOP leader doesn't do this kind of thing? And that there's a whole list of Trump things that fall in that category?
Jim Geraghty@jimgeraghty

Look at the AI-generated image yourself and ask yourself if a near-octogenarian president with functioning eyes and mind could possibly mistake it as a depiction of Trump “as a doctor” or a Red Cross worker. Apparently, the president thinks that Red Cross workers or doctors wear long, flowing, red-and-white robes and use handheld spheres of bright energy to heal the sick by laying their hands on the patient’s forehead.
