A Gauteng Traffic Police official, 36-year-old Tshwarelo Motala from Arcadia, has been granted R3 000 bail by the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court after being charged with the alleged rape of a 26-year-old woman. According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the incident allegedly took place during the early hours of 13 April 2026 at an apartment building in Arcadia. It is alleged that at about 01:00, the accused met the complainant on a fourth-floor staircase where they reportedly smoked together. The NPA says the accused then allegedly persuaded the woman not to return to her apartment and instead accompany him to the top floor of the building so they could continue talking. Once there, an altercation allegedly broke out between the two. The complainant alleges that Motala pinned her against a wall. She reportedly pushed him away, causing him to fall down several stairs. However, as she attempted to flee, the accused allegedly got up, grabbed her again, pinned her against the wall and raped her. Following the alleged attack, the complainant reportedly managed to escape, ran back to her apartment and locked the door. The matter was later reported to police on 23 April 2026, leading to the arrest of the accused at his residence the following day. During bail proceedings, the State did not oppose bail, stating that the accused was not considered a flight risk. The court subsequently granted him bail of R3 000. The matter has been postponed to 15 July 2026 for further police investigations.

I hate Pretoria so much, because that place changed me. Mina guys, I become a whole different man when I'm in a relationship, so this other time, I found that my girlfriend from Hatfield was cheating on me. I went on to search about the guy and found out he is married, I confronted him. He told me he didn't know my girl had a boyfriend. He also told me that he cheated on his wife with my girlfriend because she bought them grocery every month since he was unemployed. My dumb self asked if he would stay away if I bought his family grocery, and he agreed. I always monitored my girls phone and searched it to check if she was still cheating, and it seemed like my guy kept his word. One time he calls me, "Zweli ndoda, I think your girl uyakujolela but not with me. Show up Friday. I will show you the guy." Friday that week, I obviously go to see him. He shows me the guy and we approach him, well he firstly didn't agree to cheating with my girlfriend I think he was scared that maybe we were going to beat him up. After a few hours of us refusing to leave, he finally admitted, "Okay bro, yebo ngijole nentombi yakho. But only because she is helping me look for a job." I made connections for the guy to get a job, and he also promised to stay away from my girl. I was now tired of her cheating ways and confronted her, "Zwe, I don't cheat intentionally. I waited 30 minutes, and I noticed that the sangoma kid left his phone on the chair. I decided to take it and see if he is really a sangoma, hawu!! This kid was my girlfriend's young brother, and the grocery guy was her uncle, and the job guy was her cousin. I go the other way around the house, I find the whole family enjoying breakfast eKitchen.😭

Mr O’Sullivan’s appearance follows the intervention of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Thoko Didiza, who last week advised the Committee to engage constructively with Mr O’Sullivan regarding his stated security concerns. Though the Speaker was not opposed to issuing summons to any witness, her advice was that doing so must be a just and fair administrative action meeting standards of reasonableness, rationality and justification.
