My thoughts about Grok Build (and Grok Heavy 300$ sub) Spoiler: the TUI is amazing, but the usage/model quality you get for 300$/mo is just not even comparable to Codex/Claude 100$ plans

tbh i never really cared about the agents​.md vs claude​.md stuff because you can just do ln -s agents.md claude​.md and move on with your life

@elonmusk When I first used it, before I knew the size of the model or any other benchmark numbers, I had a pretty good time with it Although after I learned about its size, I got biased fast and felt like I'm missing out by not using the best 😭

@Surendar__05 Genuinely don't understand why would you use anything other than Claude/Codex for coding right now - the quotas are not even comparable with anything else You get like 2-5k$/mo of quotas, even on Cursor you get 2x what you pay at 400$

I lied for shock value I'm sorry 😭 Well, partly - the credits seem to have just expired after 6mo, but there was unfortunately no warning and it just so happened that I started heavily using the services right after that And I created a new account with my new credit card and it must've triggered something as I got an email asking me for documents, which I don't have (the bills are paid by my landlord, all of my documents are not from the country I live in, and I'm just sad because of that — I don't really want to share my personal ID if it's not absolutely necessary) - or I'll get banned in 6-ish days

@novae1532 @RhysSullivan It's just more intuitive, and it's easier to control, because you can see the files for yourself if you need Although it's annoying that if you're looking at the file in obsidian, it's non-writeable, but that's a low price to pay

@leerob Love cursor so much, but the 200$ plan is just not enough for me 🥲 Last time I tried in the end of march, 80% of my monthly quota was gone within 3-4 days

Cursor (and coding agents generally) still blows my mind daily. Just today: 1. I shipped a new landing page. I gave a 10min voice note to Cursor, left to go eat dinner, and came back to a 90% finished version. Made some small design and copy tweaks and merged. 2. Had Cursor dig through Search Console and Semrush with computer use, researched places we could improve SEO, and then merged 3 PRs with fixes. 3. Used the Supabase MCP to pull thousands of emails from the Compile waitlist, had it research them with web search based on ideal fit for the event, and got back a CSV with the top people to invite and why. 4. Updated an internal app I built for doing company-wide surveys (think Typeform but Cursor branded) in a few hours before our All Hands. 5. Had a few agents researching furniture I'm hoping to buy. They searched the web for a bunch of variants and then made a custom shopping cart (just an HTML page) with images, prices, links, and tons of details. Super helpful. I don't do this every day, of course, but it's still wild to me this is the new normal for what someone with a computer and AI can do. Most of these were running in the cloud as I was between meetings, just humming away in the background. I could check the app (🔜) to see progress and merge PRs. What a time to be alive. (P.S. if you extrapolated my usage today, I'd still be on the $200/mo plan)
