We've entered into an agreement to join OpenAI as part of the Codex team. I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done so far, incredibly grateful to everyone that's supported us, and incredibly excited to keep building tools that make programming feel different.

@NathanFlurry @thdxr I use virtual filesystem and variable systems, sometimes the upstream agents create tables / variables available in the environment, sometimes the tool creates a new file/variable

curious to hear more about this, did you figure out the piping part? or did python solve that for you? secure exec has 2 interesting things: - a "kernel" that supports pipes, proc trees, fd, etc between multiple node/python/bash procs - experimental pyodide support been messing a lot with how far we can push this

we've been experimenting with getting rid of the bash tool agents can write js fine which can do what bash can (though some gaps with things like git) and is more cross platform and then could run that in this

@thdxr JS seems to have a better sandboxing support these days so it may be more natural as opposed to using a limited REPL for Python

I agree! I am using monty (github.com/pydantic/monty) for this exact reason. I needed a way for my agents to pipe/process files and I wanted to use just-bash or another simulator, and I saw this on Linkedin and gave it shot. It is really much better. Bash is cumbersome for complex processing. My stack right now is Monty (limited Python) + DuckDB.

This product is truly the culmination of all the other products I was building over the last 5 years, a true full circle moment for me personally. Super proud to be able to help ship this from the front. Story time 🧵

Rippling launched its AI analyst today. I'm not just the CEO - I'm also the Rippling admin for our co, and I run payroll for our ~ 5K global employees. Here are 5 specific ways Rippling AI has changed my job, and why I believe this is the future of G&A software. 🧵 1/n

I needed to add a department to an employee profile. Old way: find profile, locate field, edit, save New way: type: “Add Engineering as the department for [team member]" with @Rippling AI The future of HR ops isn’t a better interface. It’s not needing one.

Why Rippling AI is different? The answer lies in the platform itself - most of the SaaS is suffering from proper data access, Rippling's smart defaults by knowing your employees (Rippling Employee Graph) and unified data platform abstracts this problem in a much higher level than anyone else. The more Rippling you use, the better synergy you get and our AI gets smarter for you.

We experimented different approaches but the thing that resonated the most was this: openai.com/index/inside-o… Funnily enough, this came out a day after I started the rewrite - however, we are dealing with a much much bigger problem at Rippling. We are ultimately their DWH for our clients for anything related to their business operations running at Rippling, so the expectations from an external vendor is much higher, compared to an internal data team in a company.

Think Deno is being acquired by OpenAI? ~8 of their employees posted about no longer working there today, one said two weeks ago they resigned, none of them said layoffs. All on bluesky, while Ry is posting about ChatGPT water usage not being that much Always been a huge Deno supporter, curious to see so many leaving
