Last time we had “Nationals” in Canada it was in 2016. Canadians have had to travel to the US for 10 years for NAIC - our shared International event. Toronto has capacity at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the event, let’s give it a try. Please! Not only is Canada very safe, the conversion rate is great for most foreign players in comparison to the higher USD. A super cool city, tourist friendly, and lots of family activities. I’m sure some will complain about needing a passport, but that might artificially resolve the player cap issue we are dealing with instant sellouts of events. Even then, Toronto Regionals sold out for the past few years, and I don’t see some paperwork holding players back from an “international” International Championships. My true vote would actually go to Montréal, but I don’t think TPCI is gonna make all of their signage in French, have French staff, and merchants will not have the needed 1/1 French versions available for sale so it becomes a logistical nightmare. Vancouver should become the next home of a Major League Baseball team. With the MLB publicly expressing interest in expansion in the near future, we see an opportunity to position our city as the next home for a franchise. This could be an opportunity to bring something truly special to Vancouver. An MLB team would be a significant step forward for our city and would create lasting memories for fans across generations.
