@zappa Not in concert but at the premier of Baby Snakes in NYC
I saw Bald Headed John in the theater. Knowing that he was Frank Zappa's bodyguard, I asked nicely if he would introduce me, next thing I know I'm shaking hands & having a one on one with Frank himself. Highlight of my life!

@zappa Not an actual meeting, no, but during the ‘84 tour I was a guest of Chad Wackerman here in Vancouver. While Chad was guiding me around the mobile UMRK etc. I briefly wound up standing an arm’s length away from Frank on the stage of the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

@zappa I went to most of the @zappa concerts in @rotterdamahoy between 1978 and 1988 where I saw him at a considerable distance, but I have a picture with Bunk Gardner in @LantarenVenster , so you won't hear me complain. ;-) .

@zappa Never had the honor of meeting the legend.
I did see him live in Champaign, IL in 1977
He closed the show with the song, Illinois Enema Bandit
The actual Enema Bandit committed a majority of his crimes in Champaign, IL❗️

@zappa No but I saw Dweezil play here in Boston in 2006 with Terry Bozzio, Napoleon Murphy Brock, and Steve Vai. That’s as close as I got.

@zappa Spoke with Frank @Zappa several times during his March 1986 trip to Annapolis to oppose state legislation requiring labels on "obscene" music. One of my @BaltimoreSun articles about him appeared in the liner notes of his "Congress Shall Make No Law" album (Official Release #88).

@zappa Saw Frank in 2974 at a small roller rink. So much equipment on stage that opener Tom Waits had to perform from the floor!

@zappa Frank spoke at a pro-choice rally in Beverly Hills in the mid/late 80s. My wife and 6 year old son and I followed him out to the parking lot and talked with him for a minute. He bent over and shook my son's hand and said, "Hi Jim!" Great day.
English

@zappa Spokane, Wa. The new Opera House. It was barely 1/2 full but he was joyful and had all of “ you Spokane freaks” move on down to the front seats. He played a longer concert than planned and it was the best thing to happen to Spokane in a long time.
English

@zappa Unfortunately no he is the one musician I regret not seeing live
