Where Kevin McGonigle should bat in the lineup is kind of a tough decision. On one hand, he’s your best option for a prototypical leadoff hitter. On the other, he’s also probably your best option for driving in runners as well.

I'm not sure if he'll play more at second base or third base (I'm guessing second base), but JJ Wetherholt has a wide open path to PT with St. Louis with Arenado and Donovan gone. With his power/speed blend, it wouldn't shock me if he pushed 20/20 as a rookie.

Seeing a lot of chatter (=frustration) on Hurston Waldrep possibly starting 2026 at AAA for the Atlanta #Braves. This is not a bad thing. We should still get 20+ starts w/ the #Braves in '26. Pitch mix needs some fine tuning to compliment that nasty splitter & curveball anyway.

It's all about roster construction. You have guys who are out of options (Elder, Wentz and Holmes). You want to maintain depth. So, as long as they're healthy they're in the pen or rotation. Perez will have to prove himself. Waldrep has options. He'll be up soon enough

@mlbbowman Your comment about Waldrep is interesting to me. The kid pitched his tail off last year after the speedway game. If he's throwing it like that, it'd be hard to leave him in Gwinnett to me.
