A couple of months ago I had a conversation with a game developer about some issues they were having with certain tools they used based on that conversation I decided to create a custom tool for him to test out unfortunately they never got back to me the idea is that its an alternative to Anchorpoint or Mudstack, and much more user friendly for artists than dropbox (Auto-syncing version control that doesn't make you learn Git) you drop files into a folder. That's it. Every save is versioned automatically no commits, no branches, no terminal. You get side-by-side comparison for images and 3D models, so you can actually see what changed between v12 and v15 instead of squinting at filenames. it allows you to view files in the trash and compare them just in case something was deleted by accident it's meant for small developer teams and I want testers to see if its viable at all #gamdev #indiegames #indiegame

Posting content is one of the best ways to get your game in front of a lot of people, and for good reason. It’s free, easy to do, and usually does not take much time. The problem is that a lot of developers do not really know what to post, or even where to post it. I follow a lot of indie devs on X, for example, and most of their game posts barely break 10k impressions. The crazy part is that a lot of the content looks like it should go viral, but it does not. I do not use every platform heavily myself, but if I were a developer trying to get my game noticed, I would want a way to study short-form content across every major platform and figure out what patterns actually work for my genre. Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, and X all matter, but rotating through all five constantly is a pain. So I built a tool that pulls in content from those platforms that is already viral, or at least shows strong viral potential, and puts it all in one place for me to look through every day. The goal is to make it easier to spot patterns, generate ideas, and find content formulas worth testing for your own game. I built it because I hoped it could genuinely help developers market their games better. I just do not know yet if other people would actually find it useful. #gamedev #indiedev #indiegames

Tried a bit of Jak and Daxter on OpenGOAL today and it’s honestly impressive how clean it looks. The game feels sharper and smoother than I’ve ever seen it. For anyone who doesn’t know: OpenGOAL is a fan‑made project that rebuilds the original Jak and Daxter in a modern, open‑source engine so it can run natively on PC with higher resolutions and better performance. Enhancements for the first two games are already finished, and work on the third is still in development. You can even add mods and HD texture packs, since OpenGOAL supports custom assets and community-made visual upgrades. You just need a copy of the game and you’re good to go. I used UltraISO to convert my physical PS2 disc into a digital copy and it worked perfectly. 💯

@big_duca I honestly think its an endless cycle AI is making software more accessible, but its also doing the same for distribution. I've seen posts lately of people using tools to help them with marketing

Guys, hear me out. I have a SUPER contrarian take. This is going to piss a lot of people off. I almost don't want to say it but... bros you need to hear this. AI is taking over software. Change is fucking coming. And now... Distribution is the new bottleneck.

I recommend not uploading to social media platforms via APIs. I’ve talked to some insiders at social media companies. You will want the platforms to think you’re a human.

Yesterday, I was doom-scrolling on Twitter when I came across a game with really strong capsule art. It immediately caught my attention, so I clicked on it and watched the trailer. That moment got me thinking: how do developers actually get their capsule art made? A lot of game devs are not professional artists. Even if they are talented, they may not know what kind of Steam capsule art actually gets people to click. So I started Googling. One of the first results was a site called SteamCapsules. I browsed through it for a while, and another question came to mind: why isn’t there something like this for trailers? Players do not just look at capsule art. They also watch trailers, and often spend more time skimming through them before deciding whether to wishlist or buy. That is when the idea hit me. What if there were a platform where developers could find trailer creators for their games, and trailer creators could find developers to work with, all focused specifically on game trailers? So I started working on a prototype. It is just a thought for now, but it feels like something that could be genuinely useful.

Highguard devs just dropped a limited-time 5v5 Raid Mode (playable now through the weekend) + performance fixes & a new base. They're responding to gamers feedback on pacing/maps. Looks like they're listening. Will 5v5 help turn things around?

I got bored so I built a discord tool that allows people to upload a 3D asset into discord and view it on there computer fast with others The idea is that everyone can view it in realtime and collaborate on brainstorming changes

I don’t like people shitting on things others have created. Putting something out into the world makes you vulnerable, and that alone deserves respect, even if you dislike the creation. It’s easy to destroy things, it’s a lot harder to build them. The best critics understand this. Even when they’re being critical, they do their best not to be hurtful.
