In a little over 24 hours time former colleagues and friends will gather in silence outside Parliament to remember Metropolitan Police Constable Keith Palmer GM (George Medal posthumously). PC Palmer, whilst unarmed tackled a knifeman attempting to carry out a terrorist attack within the grounds of the British Parliament on the 22nd March 2017. His actions allowed other officers to confront and shoot dead his attacker but not before PC Palmer had received a fatal stab wound. Pictured; 1. Floral tributes laid by the public opposite the site of Keith's murder. 2. The Memorial to Keith outside the gates of the Palace of Westminster. 3. Book of remembrance for fallen officers The Mall, London. 4. Chief Inspector (Supt) Wynne City of London police laying a wreath for Keith handed to him by family members of knife crime victims. A touching display of respect between a man and his fallen colleague. Two men who likely never met but unbreakably joined in a shared duty to each other and to us. A fleeting moment in time as many passed without notice as busy London life moved on. An image I was deeply moved by and am proud to have paused and witnessed. Thank you to all our police who day in day out face such threats on our behalf. 🚨 Liam Rosenior: “It’s been the most disappointing evening so far”. “In terms of the things we spoke about, not gifting goals away, getting control of the game - it wasn't there”. 🔵4️⃣ Chelsea have lost 4 games in a row for the first 1993.

On March 21, 2003, eight personnel from 3 Commando Brigade (primarily Royal Marines, along with attached personnel) were killed, together with four US Marine Corps aircrew, when a US CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter crashed in the Kuwaiti desert several miles south of the Iraqi border. The crash, attributed to mechanical failure, occurred around midnight GMT during the early stages of the ground invasion as part of Operation TELIC (the British codename for operations in Iraq). The personnel were being transported in support of operations to secure key areas, such as the Al Faw Peninsula oil fields. These 12 fatalities (8 British and 4 American) marked Britain's first losses of the campaign. Gone but not forgotten.

.@elonmusk 🔴BREAKING: Elon Musk just dropped this mind-blowing update on Neuralink… “In the next 6 to 12 months, we’ll be doing our first implants for vision — even if somebody is completely blind, we can write directly to the visual cortex.” Blindness? Cured. Sight? Restored. Humanity? Upgraded. 👀⚡ From zero vision → potential superhuman sight (infrared, UV, radar… like a real-life superhero). This is no longer sci-fi. It’s happening NOW. What do you think — game-changer or too wild? 🔥 Drop your thoughts below!

Britain’s public footpaths are not accidental. They are the result of centuries of custom, law, and quiet persistence. Across fields, hills, and villages, these paths tell a deeper story. A story about land, rights, and belonging. The answer lies further back than most realise. 🧵

🤣This is a hilarious montage of Chuck Norris jokes. If you think about it, he really was the first 80’s action hero and pretty much started the genre of 80’s and 90’s action movies.

If you’re not already fired up for tomorrow, listen to this. I’m fuming. Listen to what these ex-players and pundits think about our chances. Listen to what they think about our fanbase. Listen to what they say our reaction will be if we go 1–0 down. Literally sniggering at us. They seem to think our players are going to hate playing in that stadium tomorrow and that we will make it toxic. Honestly, after hearing that, I’ve never been more determined to show everyone exactly who we are. We are the Tottenham, And we are the best, We are the Tottenham, So fuck all the rest.

Chuck Norris didn't join the Marine Corps...the Marine Corps applied to him. Heaven’s streets have always been guarded by Marines. Today, Chuck Norris reported for duty. We mourn the passing of Chuck Norris, a @usairforce veteran, who also became an honorary Marine in 2007 when awarded the title by then Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James T. Conway. Chuck Norris is one of just over 100 individuals to be awarded the title of Honorary Marine in the entire 250-year history of the Corps. Some missions may require a battalion, but this one just requires an Honorary Marine. #USMCHistory #USMC #SemperFidelis

The POW Who Kept His Promise to the Kaiser. In 1914, British Captain Robert Campbell of the East Surrey Regiment was severely wounded and captured by German forces just weeks into World War I. For two long years, he languished in the Magdeburg prisoner-of-war camp, completely cut off from his family. In late 1916, Campbell received devastating news: his mother in England was dying of cancer. Desperate to see her one last time, he took a wildly improbable shot in the dark. He wrote a personal letter directly to Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, begging for a brief compassionate leave. Astonishingly, the Kaiser personally granted the request. The German leader offered Campbell two weeks of leave to visit his dying mother in Kent, on one single condition. Campbell had to give his "word as a British officer" that he would voluntarily return to the enemy prison camp when the fortnight was up. Campbell traveled across war-torn Europe by boat and train, reached his family home in Gravesend, and spent a precious final week with his mother before she passed away. He then did the unthinkable: he kissed his remaining family goodbye, packed his bags, and traveled right back to Germany. Honoring his word, Captain Campbell walked directly back into the Magdeburg POW camp and surrendered himself to his captors. He spent the next two years imprisoned until the war finally ended in 1918, proving that for some men, honor holds far more weight than freedom.
