The suspect in the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen from Torrance, California.
He graduated from Cal Tech with an engineering degree in 2017 and earned a master's in computer science in 2025.
Allen is currently in custody, though authorities have not yet officially confirmed his name.

Cole Thomas Allen, 31, from California has been identified as the suspect in tonight’s shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, with the FBI confirming that Allen is currently in custody and was carrying a shotgun as well as a handgun when he entered the Washington Hilton.

15-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot During Fight at Queens Basketball Court A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday evening during a violent melee at Roy Wilkins Park in St. Albans, Queens, police said. The incident began around 6:15 p.m. when a group of teenagers fighting on a basketball court turned physical, during which the victim, identified as Jaden Pierre, was attacked and then struck by a single gunshot to the upper chest. Witnesses said they heard a shot and rushed to the scene, where the teen was found wounded on the ground. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
