This is my geopolitical sanity check. —I support Ukraine and their fight against Russian aggression. —I stand with the Iranian people and their fight for freedom from the Islamic regime. —I support Israel and their fight against all the barbaric terrorist groups seeking their destruction. You don’t even have to be fully pro any of these sides I support. You can have questions, uncertainties and even doubts. But the moment you start supporting Russia, the Regime or the terrorists—I genuinely think you’re insane.

It is not only an embarrassment when the President begs for help, and our allies say no—it is a national security threat. Trump’s go-it-alone approach to diplomacy has alienated many of the United States’ allies, and those costs are becoming clear.

I can promise this: The Senate will not vote to leave NATO and abandon our allies just because Trump is upset they wouldn’t go along with his reckless war of choice.   Thank you to @SecRubio for sponsoring the bill in 2023 requiring a two thirds vote of the Senate to make sure clueless presidents couldn’t act on a whim.

@TomHoefling This is true, but they haven't yet invaded the Baltics and closed the Suwałki Gap, and they will if pushed. In case you haven't noticed many of the losers in European NATO will talk a good fight and do nothing about it.

If Trump (illegally) takes the U.S. out of NATO, NATO should offer full membership to Ukraine five minutes later. I mean, Ukraine is, in every practical sense, the bulwark of Europe against the war criminals and barbarians in the Kremlin.

The genius of NATO is that it quietly did the impossible: it helped end the Cold War, anchored Europe’s peace, & still stands as the West’s strongest insurance policy. The UK has an historic chance to lead NATO Europe & prove it remains our security cornerstone. We must not fail.

Trump wants to rip up NATO because we refuse to be dragged into his illegal war. Threats to NATO today become threats to Trident tomorrow. We can't rely on Trump for our national security. Britain needs a truly independent nuclear deterrent, committed to NATO's defence.
