@HaltonPolice So you want us to be inefficient and waste tax dollars with an employee just standing there? Any gov employee suggesting the wasting of tax dollars should be terminated immediately.

‼️Here’s #SomethingToKnow –if you’re getting pulled over by the police for a traffic stop, do not immediately rush to find your documents. When the officer comes to your window, they will tell you the reason for the traffic stop, and ask you to provide your driver’s license, ownership, and proof of insurance. The officer will give you time to find everything you need. 🚙 Let’s work together to ensure the #Halton community makes it home safely.

@debroy62 @AirCanada Thank you. Care for the victims and their families is first. He, or someone in his office, got a quick message out, but they were dealing with a million other more important things. Give the guy a break.

@policelawnews Bike citation. Ok, write a ticket and move on. What reasonable suspicion did he have to justify a search? Cops escalate this stuff all the time. Write a ticket, move on.

Dayton, OH🚔 •An officer stopped Reginald Thomas for a bike violation🚲 •Reggie got squirrelly as the officer started a pat down. •Reggie ran & pulled a 🔫 on the cop. •The men wrestled over control of the weapon until another officer arrived & dealt w/ the situation. •Fatal OIS💥💥💥 *kill them before they kill you.

@VoiceOfReasonxx @policelawnews If he took two steps, he would have been out of the way and then it’s a failure to stop citation, not an attempted extrajudicial execution of his better - a taxpayer.

@Divebutt @policelawnews He's standing in front of the vehicle and it's MOVING. Quickest way to get out of harm's way is on the hood. IF a citation is warranted? What a foolish statement.

@KimKatieUSA Lowers costs for working families. Ok. So by reducing the number of workers available for a given number of jobs, you drive up pay rates. Supply and demand. Higher wages mean higher prices. Tell me again how your logic works?

Liberals are mocking these two young ICE agents. I see two American heroes with a bright future ahead. Every violent illegal they deport prevents another Laken R or Jocelyn N. Every other illegal they remove opens jobs for citizens and lowers costs for working families.

@bluelivesmtr @RealTomHoman Common sense security is back! 👮‍♂️ Checking identification and maintaining a strong presence at our ports of entry shouldn't be controversial—it’s essential. Grateful for a President who puts the safety of American families first. Repost if you agree! 🇺🇸

Well THIS backfired on the left! President Trump says he plans on keeping ICE at airports across the US INDEFINITELY. And from our friend @RealTomHoman, they’ll even be checking the identification of people. CHECKMATE. REPOST for exposure! #thinblueline #lawenforcement

I get why people are rolling their eyes at this (and normally I would too!) but one of the deceased pilots was a francophone from Quebec. It would've been nice if the CEO spoke a few words to his family, in their language
Scott Robertson@sarobertsonca

PM Mark Carney says he is "very disappointed" in Air Canada CEO's English-only message of condolence: "It doesn't matter the circumstances, but particularly in these circumstances, lack of judgment and lack of compassion."

@TheTorontoSun The ability to speak a minority language in this country should not be a driving factor in choosing a CEO for a multi billion dollar company.

The more we learn the more it is clear that the Air Traffic Controller was doing his best. His compulsion to take all the blame and responsibility is deeply honourable. He did so acutely aware the world would hear his words. As such he deserves the forgiveness, respect and compassion of all Canadians. His life will be very difficult going forward. I hope he gets all the support he needs. #AirCanada

@DimitrisSoudas He had two dead employees, multiple injured employees and customers, a destroyed aircraft, all in another country. It was then worst day of his career and likely one of the worst of his life. Cut the guy some slack. A social media post was a bottom priority.

Sir, We understand that the French language seems to irritate you, as though it were an inconvenience rather than a foundational element of this country. But the facts remain. One of the pilots was a Quebecer, a francophone. His family and loved ones deserved to hear a message in French. Out of respect. Out of dignity. Out of basic humanity. And beyond that, there is the law. Air Canada is subject to the Official Languages Act. It is a law, sir. Not a recommendation. Not optional. An obligation. This does not diminish the tragedy or the suffering of the victims. It simply affirms that in Canada, respect for both official languages is not conditional, especially in moments of national grief. And if the message had been delivered only in French, you would be asking the same question. So let’s ask it honestly, both ways. Because respect cannot be one-sided.
Harrison Faulkner@Harry__Faulkner

An Air Canada plane crashes, resulting in the deaths of two pilots. Over on Radio-Canada, the "conservative" on the panel is having a fit that the Air Canada CEO didn't speak French in his video and demands his resignation over it. Someone should let these people on the panel know that the victims in this tragedy were the pilots and the injured passengers, not the French language.

@mtlgazette Dead pilots, injured customers and employees, a destroyed aircraft, in another country, the worst day of the guys career…. And the biggest issue the Quebecers have is that he gave a monolingual message on social media? Tabarnak. Grow up.

“No, Air Canada knows better." Federal Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon said it wasn’t acceptable for Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau to release a video statement, where he expressed his condolences to those affected by the crash, entirely in English. "They have a responsibility to communicate with the public and their stakeholders in both official languages,” MacKinnon told reporters in Ottawa. Read the latest: montrealgazette.com/news/local-new…
