I guess time will tell :) As of now, Israelis seem to be the happiest and most fertile of rich countries, so I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds. History is awesome because it is a record of mankind's social "experiments". Right now Israel acts and thinks, believes and values, in a way that is diametrically opposed to much of the wealthy developed world. Which "way of being" will be vindicated by history? Stay tuned.

I find it really tiresome when Israeli politicians counter anti-Israel statements from European leaders by recounting their historical mistreatment of Jews Guys, they’re not doing this because they’re Nazis or Inquisitors, they’re doing this because they’re Libtards and socialists. Rebutting the Spaniards by talking about the inquisition makes us sound petty. Here’s what the response should be: “Sanchez and his government will never understand what it’s like to defend one’s nation and people, because they do not believe that is the role of the state. His government exists solely to facilitate the replacement of native Spaniards by invaders. A government that would prefer to euthanize the victims of migrant rape instead of being protecting its people has nothing to say to us about national defense.

This is extremely true, and the second point in particular is important: if you measured inequality even just inside the EU on a non-PPP basis I'm pretty sure you'd find overall inequality at least as high as the US (possibly much higher).

Five things I've found almost no Europeans know (and lots of Americans don't either) that warps the view of America vs. Europe: - The distance from NYC to LA is as great as the distance from Moscow to Lisbon; - If you measure across all of Europe (excluding Russia, which would make the comparison worse for Europe), not just within each country, income inequality is greater than in the US, even though Europe is geographically smaller; - The overwhelming majority of Americans have much greater access to insured quality healthcare than the median European; - Disposable household income in the poorest US state, Mississippi, is higher than in any country in Europe that is as large or larger than Rhode Island; - How federalism works in the U.S. Ignorance on these 5 simple issues alone explains much of how people (incorrectly) view life in the U.S. vs. life in Europe.
