I assure you that I do, in fact, pay my own bills with the money that I do, in fact, make. It is more maddening because it contains an interesting discussion of externalities and public policy positions. Starting by saying I do not earn my own way makes me hostile to those.

@alexthechick @THATCH_ARISES Sadly, that's what drives clicks though. I read it thoroughly but it could have made the point more sharp by focusing on the specific demographic target rather than the broad stroke of working women.

@_wej01 That is not just false but laughably so. "False accusations" are extremely hard to prove as false, especially for SA. I was SA'd by a woman in college. Never reported b/c I was told that _I_ would be seen as the perpetrator even tho she got me black-out drunk then assaulted ME.

Btw, data indicates that men are significantly more likely to be victims of sexual assault by other MEN than to be falsely accused of rape or sexual assault by a woman. Estimates suggest men are up to 230 times more likely to experience rape than to face a false accusation. False reports are RARE.

@dt_carruthers @Rightanglenews Medical staff are obligated to inform patients of maid. That is not the same as doctors offering it as the only line of treatment. Doctors will offer active care or palliative care. Neither include maid. Maid can only be requested by the patient.

I worked in Canada, spent 4 Canada days between work in a row in Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver, & Toronto. I heard horror stories from co-workers. Those who knew.

@BlackDumpling Fair, but some comments pointed out an important wrinkle that you missed: when things are really hard or dirty, a man (even _the_ man) is alone to deal with it. I've had to be the rock, to face danger/grit/hardship knowing that I have no backup or hope if I'm in over my head.

Alright, this pity party crap is no bueno and unbecoming. Listen to a woman explain something to you about yourself you probably don't understand, or likely think you do but don't. Ready? Here goes: Nobody cares about men *as a class*, but they do care about men individually. Your wife, your mother, your father, your children. None of them care about "men", generic "man", not the way they care about women, or children or dogs. And *you* are very likely no different... but tell me, did you love your father? Your son? Your grandfather? Your brother? Your brothers in arms? On a certain level he is correct, few and far between are those who care about you because you were born. It's a hard thing, borders on cruel, even unfair... but that's the world and it falls on you to become someone that isn't "generic man" if the love of others is something you truly want, as most do. Chances are you DO know all this, whether it's been articulated to you in the past or not but you have to understand you don't have to live with you the way we do. You have all the gifts, all the benefits, you have all the superpowers outside of giving birth. You're the smartest, the strongest, the fastest, the toughest. The builders, creators, designers, destroyers. It's pretty much you. With all the wonder and suffering that entails. That's the trade off. That's your role. Ours is to be loved, and always at your mercy, while yours is to be powerful and always at ours. Of course in the human species there's mix and match, here and there... beautiful men, powerful women and the cruelty of a society that doesn't give you the benefit of the doubt can be pretty cruel (Family courts, incarceration rates, etc)... but on the whole it's wiser to recognize that it's not that you are not loved, or cannot be loved, but that for you the shape love takes is a different kind of beast altogether. Which is all just a long winded way of saying if you want love you can't just be a man, you must be THE Man.
