This is exactly what I see in sheet metal estimating. Lowest bid wins, then everyone cuts corners. The real killer is missing scope - counter flashing specs on page 23, coping profiles that do not match actual conditions. Contractors lose 15-20 percent margins on things they never even knew existed.
