My coworker used to take the long way home every night. Two extra bus stops, more walking, more money, more time. One day I asked her why she didn’t just take the shortcut alley behind our building. She laughed and said, “Oh, because a guy followed me there once and told me he could ‘do whatever he wanted’ and no one would hear me scream.” So now, every night, she calls a male friend and pretends she’s on the phone with her “boyfriend.” Sometimes she even laughs loudly and says things like, “Yeah, I’ll see you in five minutes, babe,” even when she’s completely alone. Not because she wants attention. Not because she’s dramatic. Because sounding “taken” and “protected” is safer than sounding like a woman by herself. Men cannot even begin to understand the calculations women make every day just to get home alive.

There's not a woman on earth born before 2002 or thereabouts who thought her life would be eaten up by having to argue men aren't women and being punished for saying so. It is the most insane thing that has ever happened to a lot of us. That mustn't ever be downplayed.

I can’t pretend not to know the struggles women faced & continue to. In my life time here some subjects were not open to us at school. I needed my father’s signature to open a bank account. In my ‘Hay Day’ my husband was responsible for my tax returns. Memories are so short.

Women have the right not to undress in front of men at work. Twenty years ago, that sentence would have been a statement of such obviousness that people would have laughed at you for saying it aloud. Now it's a matter for celebration. Congratulations, you heroines 🎉😘👏

“A gender neutral toilet is available on every floor”, literally nailed to the door of the ladies. But no. This isn’t about needing somewhere to pee. This is about deliberately & purposefully antagonising, intimidating & shaming women & girls. No. Other. Reason.

It’s weird isn’t it… 1. Man dresses up to pretend he’s an admiral when he isn’t: court, fine, criminal record. 2. Men dress up as women, demand access to their private sex orientated spaces… they are lauded, protected and women are told to shut up and be kind… som of those women end up in court for calling said men, men. Make it make sense please..

BBC Verify call the uprising in Iran “cost of living protests”. I swear a circle of Hell is reserved for those “journalists”. Over 50 Iranian women have been hanged by the mullahs in the past year. Women. Hanged. Verify that.

It’s quite surreal to note the last appearance of Prof Lord Robert Winston on the BBC was on the 14 Oct 2021. A long-running BBC presenter of science programmes and regular contributor to several shows, yet no where to be seen on the state broadcaster after stating this fact:

We are the first girls who could be everything a boy could be. The Supreme Court determined that the law protecting women's rights can only be interpreted coherently if it recognised that "woman" means female. Now the government is wringing its hands that this means "rolling back of trans rights". It doesn't. It was never the right of trans-identifying men to have women's spaces, women's awards, women's data records, women's refuges. "Trans women" are men. Sad men, overconfident men, men who like the idea of themselves as women. They infringed on our rights while the first generation of women who had them were busy having our babies. Women wants our rights back @Keir_Starmer

As you’re fighting to remove our daughters’ rights to the privacy and safety of single-sex bathrooms and changing rooms, while poised to allow the unethical puberty blockers trial, perhaps children should be protected from @UKLabour.
