@PureLeeds Nothing factual about the next 7 games though which is my point. We could get 12 points or we could totally collapse

Why would you post this? It's Leeds United....we could lose 8 of our last 7 games. We've only won about 4 games in that time too....knife edge stuff, I'm glad people feel this confident because I aren't
Tiddy@PureLeeds

@nocontextfm1 Leeds have lost 4 games in the last 22 matches, and you think we’re losing 3 in our last 7 ? 😂😂

We haven’t scored in the Premier League since Villa, which was 3 games ago. And our last open play goal was Okafor vs Chelsea on 10th February which was 5 games ago… Definitely something that needs to be sorted out in the last 8 games if we’re to stay up. #LUFC

@iGerLynch Not denying there were some very poor decision making today but the refs are constantly being conned by players, it’s sickening, why isn’t the focus on them?

It's gonna be a talking point for a lot longer than today. During FA Cup rounds with no VAR it's highlighted how bad the refereeing standard has been. Refs are afraid to make calls now, relying on VAR to make the call. Today we saw another ref make error after error after error. In the "Best" League in the world. The standard has to be at an all time low. And no manager or player is allowed to say a word or get fined or banned. @FA_PGMOL have a lot to look and and give clear direction on this.

@KilliMikel @AndrewYang Nonsense. We are just going to other parts of the world, South Africa and Thailand for me in the last 18 months, rather than that trip to California we were planning pre the regime change

Tbh it’s a lot due to the news false/exaggerated perceptions of the USA. But primarily it’s probably because it’s to expensive. Look at US job income or household income compared to the UK or rest of europe. Most people don’t have the economic freedom to go on a trip, compared to 10, 15 or 20 years ago

@lufcMM0 When was the last time Man C won the title before they were taken over by owners of a country? Last time Chelsea won the league without their Russian oligarch? Those two are only big because of who owned/owns them, they are inherently not big clubs

Wrong! He didn't avoid an inheritance tax bill. Do you know what a trust is? A trust pays 6% wealth tax on the total value of the assets inside that trust every 10 years. Anyone could set up a trust, I know someone that is. You do not pay inheritance tax in a trust as a one off payment, but, over a lifetime of about 80 years, they would be 6% 8 times which is more percentage-wise and the government gets hold of a significant amount of money every 10 years which is good. In addition, the trust will be in the form of a limited company which will pay all the usual taxes (corp tax, income tax, dividend tax, all the employer taxes as he employs a lot of people and then business rates, VAT, all those as well). So with the above in mind, what Zack is saying is economically illiterate and dangerous. He says go for the other 75%. What do you think is going to happen? It's quite obvious to me. The assets of the Duke of Westminster will suddenly be worth less anyway because assets are unrealised gains so who is going to buy it knowing they will then be subject to a wealth tax? Depending on how far the wealth tax goes in terms of percentage, the Duke will trim down his workforce so there will be job losses. Basically this will shrink the pie (the pie being the total net worth of assets of the Duke) so there is less to tax so instead of getting a percentage of £10 billion (apparently his total net worth from a quick google). You might get a higher percentage of a much lower number, and asset valuations would crash in line with how high the tax is. The more wealth tax he goes for the less assets will be worth but the debt level in the country remains the same. So we'll devalue our country and have no new money coming in and we'd go into a severe depression under Zack.

Best scene I've seen on Peston for a while - Thanks @ZackPolanski Conservative Katie Lam says that the Duke of Westminster sold 25% of his real estate portfolio, in the context of a wealth tax (see below) Zack Polanski responds by saying, let's go after the other 75% Lam's hand expressions, she doesn't know how to respond to the idea of a wealth tax on the remaining 75% NB. The Duke of Westminster released 25% equity in his Mayfair real estate portfolio (not his global portfolio), selling the stake to Norway’s sovereign wealth fund, to raise capital for modernising and redeveloping parts of the estate and to support wider investment projects The move wasn’t driven by financial pressure but by a strategic aim to bring in a long-term partner, share risk, and free up funds to upgrade and future-proof Grosvenor’s London properties So contrary to what Katy Lam said, he still owns 75% of his Mayfair portfolio, so the physical assets ie the buildings are still there, which is the opposite to what she suggested, that he sold 25% of his Mayfair real estate *As a former banker she should have known this* Fun fact, in 2016 he avoided a £3.4 billion inheritance tax bill

Just a gentle reminder that it's very hard to claim that "Britain is a Christian country" when the majority of the country is non-religious - and has been for quite a while. And what we are is: diverse - and should be proud of that, I think. Freedom of (and from) religion is an important human right. humanists.uk/2021/04/01/lat…

@LUFCMOTcom I’ve always felt of all the decisions that went against us that night, this was more incredibly unlucky rather than bent. Bremner is arguably marginally offside #lufc

@StingerOptimus @DefiyantlyFree That’s funny, unlike you and almost everyone posting on this thread, I’ve actually spent all my life in England. I can tell you it’s no more authoritarian than it’s ever been, and a damn site more safe than the US (which I’ve visited a dozen times)

@DefiyantlyFree I’ve been astounded to witness the UK & Australia veer toward authoritarianism. Thank goodness we secured the opportunity to stop that from taking root here. The vote in WI and the two in FL are critical. The fight to reclaim our nation and usher in its finest era presses on.

@JayCoyle301 But parachute payments have been a thing for a long time..and look at Luton! Burnley, us and Sheff U have got proved promotion winners as managers, that’s the difference. Last year Leicester hung on to a lot of good players and got a good manager. Ipswich a freak

@PureLeeds Think as teams keep getting promoted, getting premier league money to then drop back into the championship we'll continue to see those teams being too good for the rest of the championship. Sunderland for example have had a great season really but the top three are way too strong
