It took all of five days for MLB's ABS challenge system to show why it might have a bigger impact on the sport than the pitch clock, bigger bases or the extra-innings “ghost” runner. Here’s a look at the umpires with the highest overturn percentages.

@70sBaseball If this kid doesn’t like this play he would have absolutely despised the 70’s. Softer than Mr. Whipple.

Love the start of this Arkansas - Arizona game. Future pros all over the court. Fast paced, offense offense offense. (Also hope I can stay awake for second half. These tip times are insane.)

@BaseballAmerica @UCLABaseball He got off to a great start but is coming back to Earth. Can’t lay off the slider away. Or hit it. Flies open every time trying to yank it. Will be in the .260 area by seasons end.

Will Gasparino is having a transformative junior season. The @UCLABaseball outfielder offers some of the most exciting physical tools + upside in the 2026 draft class. See where he ranks: buff.ly/ZUJa03q

@TphamLV So you’re telling me it’s not realistic. Because man cannot run 31 mph. 28 is probably max.

NEW: The LAPD is setting up drivers by having someone walk across the street in an "unmarked crosswalk" so they can then give tickets to people who don't stop. "Recently, LAPD Van Nuys division conducted a Pedestrian Enforcement Taskforce," they shared online. The LAPD says the trap was made to "promote education" after they've "had a string of accidents that have resulted in fatal or severe injuries related to pedestrians."

... air resistance Finally, what matters is the reaction time of the batter. If the baseball mound was 127 feet away, you wouldn't say that the equivalent would be over 200 mph would you?

Actually... things are measured to backtip of home plate, but contact is made closer to front tip And softball pitcher will release ball 6 to 8 feet from rubber, so all in all, flight distance is ~35 feet Baseball pitcher flight distance is 53 feet Softball also has more...
Roberto Shenanigans@Rob_Shenanigans

The rubber in MLB is 60.5 feet to the plate. The rubber to the mound in women's softball is 43.0 feet. This pitcher throwing 79.4 MPH to the hitter is the equivalent of a MLB hitter facing a 112 MPH fastball.

The pitcher is the issue here. 1. Cheap shot on the tag 2. A little B by talking 💩 and then physically backing up getting out of the action This is the kind of guy who gets his friends into fights then bails. This isn’t a guy I want in a dog fight with me. What do you think?
