2026 Topps Chrome Disney Analysis I’ll keep this one light on commentary because I am not going to sit here and pretend I’m fluent in Disney. That market is its own beast, and about 400 million of you know it far better than I do. But odds are odds. Numbers are numbers. And that part, I can translate. And I have a sneaking suspicion some of you will appreciate what I have to say on this one. Your wallets might, too. Part 1: The Basics Disney Chrome released yesterday, June 17th. Hobby boxes via EQL and Megas/Value Boxes were first come, first served with Values still available at time of writing. Prices: Hobby- $430 Mege- $70 Value- $40 If $430 seems steep for this product, let me point out that 2025 Topps Chrome Disney is currently sitting at $580/box on reseller sites and was at least as high as $800 at one point as that's the then-current price I had notated on my spreadsheet from last year. Part 2: Production Numbers Total cards in product: 2026- 22,835,056 2025- 16,001,424 YOY +42.7% Total Production by Format: Hobby- 67,408 boxes (8,426 cases) -----> YOY +9.5% Value- 329,440 (8,236 cases) -------->YOY +55.6% Mega- 132,850 boxes (6,643 cases) ----->YOY +41.3% Going a little deeper, I wanted to point out something I found fascinating... So, if total production increased by 42.7%, where might you guess this growth predominantly comes from- parallels, autos, inserts, or base? Allow me to show you: Base- +9.5% Parallels- +36.3% Fairly modest increases on both of these, relatively speaking. Autos- +93.5% We go from just under 9,000 autos in the product last year to ~17,300 this year. Even as a bystander, I see tons of huge names in this thing: Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, David Spade, Idina Menzel, Johnny Depp, Melissa McCarthy, Orlando Bloom, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Will Smith. It's like the animated version of Leaf Pop Century. One more important note on autos: Please understand there are character facsimile autos (Single, Dual, Triple, & Quads) in here and they can look very real. They are rare, and still solid hits, but facsimiles nonetheless. I low-key hate this because I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone proud to show one of these off thinking they were real. And I always hate it for them when they find out they're not. And telling them, "Well, they're still scarce", just doesn't seem like it helps. And then we have inserts. Boy, do we ever. Inserts- +1056.6%. Not a typo. Inserts more than 10xed in Disney Chrome. From ~441,400 in 2025 to ~5.1million in 2026. Part 3: Heat Map What to expect from a box: Hobby- 1 auto per 6.8 boxes (~1.75 autos/case), 1 auto or sketch per 5.35 boxes, 14.3 parallels, 12.3 inserts. 4.4 numbered cards Value- 1 auto per 78 boxes (1.95 cases), 1 auto or sketch per 62.4 boxes, 4.6 parallels, 9 inserts, 0.57 numbered cards Mega- 1 auto per 41.8 boxes (2.1 cases), 1 auto or sketch per 33.1 boxes, 7.7 parallels, 10 inserts, 1 numbered card Part 4: Value Map $/card: 1) Value & Mega- $1.25 2) Hobby- $5.97 $/Parallel: 1) Value- $8.77 2) Mega- $9.14 3) Hobby- $30.05 $/Auto: 1) Mega- $2,925.30 2) Hobby- $2,928.30 3) Value- $3,122.40 $/Auto + Sketch: 1) Hobby- $2,300.50 2) Mega- $2,316.30 3) Value- $2,496.40 $/# card: 1) Mega- $70.00 2) Value- $70.18 3) Hobby- $97.29 $/Quality Hit (Parallel or Insert /75 or less, Case Hit or rarer Insert, Auto /100 or less) 1) Hobby- $490.20 2) Mega- $599.90 3) Value- $634.00 Part 5: What Does the Squatch Say I'll be watching this one from the sidelines as it's not necessarily in my wheelhouse...but if you enjoy Disney Chrome, take a deep breath. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY HOBBY TO DO WELL WITH THIS. In fact, overall $70 Mega boxes are the cheapest entry for most parallels, inserts, and autos. Surprisingly, on a cost basis, Megas even perform very well when it comes to pulling autos & sketches. I mean, they're rare. But you're not having to spend $430 or more to give yourself an opportunity. The only metric that Hobby wins is "$ Per Quality Hit", and not by a lot. That means that, overall, Hobby will be slightly denser with low numbered or rare stuff. There are a handful of inserts that are exclusive to Hobby. These include: Dumbo 85th, Winnie the Pooh 100th, Super Strength, Lilo & Stitch, The Heart of Te Fiti, The Rose, Mickey & Friends Ukiyo. If you have your heart set on any of these particular inserts, I'd normally say stick to hobby. But let me warn you...they're all incredibly rare. You're best just to buy the singles and don't worry about hobby boxes at all. Retail formats also have some exclusive inserts including High School Musical in Value Boxes and Moana in Megas. The base versions of these are not rare, but the parallels are tough. If you're thinking about spending Hobby box money to enjoy a rip of Disney Chrome, I would suggest going the Mega Box route instead. You can get 6 Megas for the price of a Hobby and don't have to deal with crazy secondary market pricing. The value is better and 6 boxes is much more fun to rip than one.
