Happy National Ag Week! 🇺🇸 It is the honor of my lifetime to wake up every day and fight for the American farmer, the American rancher, and the way of life that built this country. I’m proud to stand with the men and women who rise early, stay late, and work tirelessly to feed, fuel, and clothe our nation!

EAT REAL FOOD!! 🐓🥩🫑🥕 Proud to work alongside @POTUS and @SecKennedy to reform America’s SNAP stocking standards — ensuring stores offer more real, nutritious food to families who rely on these benefits. Here’s the reality: to participate in SNAP, retailers are required to stock a minimum amount of staple foods. But too many are skirting the rules — mislabeling products just to check a box. Butter counted as a staple food. Jelly counted as a fruit. That’s not what this program was designed to do. We’re restoring integrity to the system and putting real food back on shelves where it belongs. Because if America is going to thrive, we have to get healthy again. Today we honor not plastic hats or green beer, but a slave boy who became a Saint and lit the fire of Christendom. Born Patricius in Roman Britain, kidnapped at 16 by Irish raiders, he worked six years as a shepherd slave. In the cold and loneliness, he found God. He escaped, trained as a bishop, and returned to Ireland in 432 AD with nothing but the Gospel. He lit the Paschal fire on Slane, used the humble shamrock to teach the Trinity, and turned kings and clans from pagan darkness to the light of Christ. Though he died March 17, 461, his legacy exploded. When Rome fell and barbarians burned Europe, Irish monks, Patrick’s spiritual sons, saved civilization. They proved Christianity’s core truth: every soul bears God’s image, liberty is divine, and charity outlasts empires. The Great Famine drove my ancestors to America (who 200 years earlier lost our family Kirwin castle in beautiful Galway in a card game 😁). They were feisty risk-takers who helped shape this republic—founded on Christian dignity, religious freedom, and the rights Patrick’s faith first defended. This day reminds us of the fire St. Patrick lit: for the working man, the faithful family, the patriot who loves America (and Ireland). It reminds us the West was built on Christ. So wear the green for the Emerald Isle, fly Old Glory for our newfound home, and kneel in thanks to the God who sent Patrick. “May the road rise up to meet you… and may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” Erin go Bragh. Just spoke with @TeamPillen — As wildfires continue burning across Nebraska, @USDA and @forestservice crews, engines, and aviation resources are working alongside state and local partners to protect communities and contain these fast-moving fires. 🚒✈️💪🏼 One top request from Governor Pillen was for our USDA team to work with ranchers impacted by these fires to provide flexibility, including moving permittees to other available allotments for grazing. I am on the phone now and we will make this happen. I have also been in touch with @SecretaryBurgum and @Interior as we work closely together to do everything possible for those affected. Grateful for our first responders working around the clock to protect lives, land, livestock, and property. USDA will continue coordinating with federal, state, and local officials as these fires remain dangerous and active. Please keep these communities in your prayers. 🙏 More updates soon.
