@simonsquibb @simonsquibb I'm in the process of building a infrastructure platform that addresses the move from education into the world of work. Built as a CIO and already partnered with some amazing people including the UK government. Happy to talk you through it.

The actual broken, out of date education system. Spend those millions on updating education instead. Teach kids about algorithms. Teach them how to leverage social media and AI tools to build a good future in the new world. I get the headlines sound good. But they lack depth. And they avoid the real problem, kids aren’t being prepared for the real world. This ban just adds to that.

I wish as much money and energy was being spent on updating the education system as is about to be spent on stopping kids using social media. Focus on enforcing the rules social media companies are meant to follow. If they don’t follow them, fine them. Still don’t follow them, block them. It’s crazy to me that the government will happily spend millions to stop kids getting access to YouTube, yet leave millions without the education they actually need to live.

@LoganTGott LinkedIn is going to die. It's not moving fast enough to deal with what it was built for. Helping people find roles and understand the world of work better. It's become an echo chamber for people out of touch.

I wish LinkedIn: - Promoted posts by value, not by who has the most friends - Stopped letting big accounts win just because they're big - Had search that actually found the post you saw last week - Let you organize and pull up saved posts in seconds - Wiped every AI comment off the platform for good - Penalized accounts farming engagement with bots - Killed engagement pods entirely - Had a real dashboard: leads, calls booked, revenue generated - Tracked pipeline, not impressions you can't spend - Told you exactly which post booked the call - Stopped tanking reach if you don’t comment immediately - Rewarded depth, not a recycled 3-line hook - Brought back comment sections that actually added value - Let you find real peers without sifting through spam requests - Didn't punish you for taking a week off to run your business - Felt like a network again, not a content treadmill

@hiiinternet Agree. Getting noticed on a job search as a someone who is talented is the hardest part. How do you stand out from a crowd?

Talented people that are "looking" are pretty rare but talented people that are recruitable is pretty much everyone

@StephNass I can 100% see how someone would see it like that! I wonder if it's a culture thing too per country. I guess it starts to open the question around titles in general. Is she a "co-founder" or is she just the first employee paid in equity rather than salary. Great to chat!

Sometimes, the deck says : - John, CEO & Founder - Jack, CTO & Co-founder - Jim, COO & Co-founder So there's THE FOUNDER and *his* co-founders. Feels weird.

@StephNass She* Because the idea, framework creation and roadmap was all created before she came onboard. It was born from me, I founded it in a literal sense I guess. I’d agree with you if the idea was mutual or semi-mutual. I’m not being combative btw, just an opposing view 🫡

If you’re ambitious I’d highly recommend working in an organization or a team where people have your similar sense of urgency or you will slowly go insane

@pcshipp Building solo if your platform is a unicorn. As a team if you’re going to wipe the market with a better version of XYZ.
