Your hiring process/marketing tells a candidate exactly how your company works and who you are. Narrative strategy all the way down.

Talent is the scarcest resource, and it's becoming clear that if companies want to compete for talent in an age of entrepreneurial abundance, they need to be treating their hiring comms as a product in and of itself. "Narrative strategy" all the way down. Great writing will inspire, motivate, and drive folks toward your mission. I wrote about this more here: native.works/chasing-greatn…

Excited to announce @deeptuneai has raised $43M Series A led by @a16z.
Labs and enterprises must turn model capability into real-world performance. Doing so will require distilling the entire economy into environments for AI. We believe this to be the most critical work in the pursuit of AGI.
We’re a small, focused team of engineers and operators in New York. If you want to work on the hardest (and weirdest) problems of your career, we would love to hear from you.

I just came across an insane stat: 60% of office workers have an injury that nobody talks about.
Take a look at your hands right now.
Chances are they're slightly curled, even when resting. Maybe your wrists ache. Your neck tilts forward without you noticing.
This isn't normal. It's what 8 hours a day at a keyboard does to you.
Repetitive Strain Injury affects 60% of office workers. Carpal tunnel cases doubled in the last decade. The average knowledge worker types 50,000-80,000 keystrokes per day.
Your job is literally breaking your body. Yet we're all acting like this is just the cost of doing business.
Here's what we're all missing:
You can't ergonomic-accessory your way out of fundamentally broken input.
The problem isn't your posture. It's that we're forcing humans to spend 2,000+ hours per year in a position our bodies were never designed for.
Hunt-and-pecking through emails. Switching between keyboard and mouse 200 times an hour. Craning forward because the screen is always too far or too close.
Meanwhile, we have the technology to change this.
What if you could write that email while pacing? Draft that doc while stretching? Respond to Slack without ever touching a keyboard?
That's why we built Wispr Flow.
Not basic speech-to-text that makes you edit for 10 minutes. Actually clean, structured output. In any app. Without your hands.
You talk like a human. It outputs like you typed it perfectly.
We spent years building the AI that understands context and intent. Not just transcribing words, but capturing what you actually mean.
Because knowledge work shouldn't require physical sacrifice.
Your brain does the thinking. Your voice does the input. Your body stays intact.

I can finally talk about this!! Hotbox is backed by @a16z @speedrun :)
I spent the last 14 months in Korea and now I’m back in SF, where it all began. My entire career exists because of social media. From early NeurIPS papers, to working on ranking algorithms, and then building viral playbooks for startups.
The thing I kept coming back to is: every company has no choice but to become a media company. To distribute. To get attention. That is the next generation of entrepreneur’s biggest challenge. That’s the next single person unicorn’s moat.
Hotbox is built for that next gen entrepreneur. Businesses run entirely on social now. Hotbox is the sales infra for the social economy.
more to come.

2 things (1) depends when the call is scheduled. If your calendar is booked for weeks out then It can stop being top of mind for the candidate. Also it makes you seem less interested/competitive for good talent. (2) hunting vs triaging inbound. If you are hunting, give more follow ups because you are fighting for their buy in. If they are inbound then its clear signal of weak interest and poor follow through.
English

@nazzari @businessbarista I disagree. Making it to the call without a reminder is one of the early filters. If they show up because of the reminder, you get a false positive.
