This was supposed to cost 33 billion dollars, and now is up to 120 billion, and this is all that exists. the Tokaido Shinkansen was built for about 40 billion in today's dollars. If someone can build a dallas/austin/san antonio/houston high speed rail in Texas for 33 billion dollars? I'm all for it. You can't or won't though.
