Huge shout out to @ByDonkeys. We've had plenty of dark periods, been gaslit as a nation and have political insanity play out right in front of our eyes. their efforts kept showing us the light and reminding the political class who serves who

Timpson’s are well-known for employing ex-offenders to help them back into work. They pay their tax. They value their staff. And then there’s this. CEO James Timpson (who’s also Chair of the Prison Reform Trust) is the new Prisons Minister. Great appointment

@montie You say that now Tim but you have been one kf the most active players in the whole vile circus. Saying soothing things now is like the arsonist saying ‘don’t be upset at me’ after burning the house down.

I’m off to bed now after 36hrs of election mania. One of the highlights of those hours was chatting with LordKinnock in the BBC green room. Lovely man. Let’s never forget that what unites us as Brits is 90% of stuff and we mustn’t let the 10% that we disagree about be what breaks us and breaks the West. Good night 💤

@danmac007 @GrahamSmith_ +1 this is an excellent appointment and a great fit for someone who has close experience to probation and ex-offenders rather than a public schoolboy with a PPE (not you, DP!)

@GrahamSmith_ Disagree. You want to be able to appoint ministers who are the most able to be good ministers. Many such people have no desire for a political/electoral life. If there is a fault, it’s that a minister must be either an MP or a peer.

In the UK, the farm labour is 10 times more expensive than Pakistan; the vet, the medicine, petrol, farm rent etc. are all much much expensive than Pakistan. How come, the milk prices in the UK is 201 rupees per litre which is cheaper than Pakistan? Why is that?

@FarooqUmer @ZulfiqarAhmed69 I've been hearing this rona for 20 years. Waitrose, M&S milk pay farmers well and their milk prices are the same as Aldi, Lidl

The 🇵🇰 budget is for the kleptocrats, by the kleptocrats, to enrich the kleptocrats. And no, it’s not the IMF that is forcing a kleptocratic budget on the citizens of the country. That’s the simple truth.

I think it’s a shame all these dingbats will lose their seats over a couple of hours. We need time to savour each one, it should be spread out over a week. Otherwise it’s like having 12 brilliant curries at once, you can’t appreciate them.

For absolute f**ck’s sake I cannot believe Rishi Sunak has wheeled out the “as a father of two girls” line when it comes to gender equality. So if you didn’t have two girls, you wouldn’t have a stance? #RishiSunak

@paullewismoney frustrating how little mention there's been of frozen tax thresholds in this campaign. it ricochets pensions, HICBC, low earners, childcare costs etc

@sundersays If you see their latest news section, they are now "not endorsing" any lab or con candidates, regardless of how they voted in the ceasefire

@thetimes There are 2.2 million Muslims eligible to vote in Britain, likely to cast up to 1.5 million votes. Your news report reports the exaggerated claim by the pressure group that there are 4 million. This would include 1.5 million under 18s so is obviously wrong

Times (in a report scrutinising extreme views among independent candidates) lazily doubles the number of Muslim voters in Britain without checking claims from an advocacy group. 2.2 million Muslims are eligible to vote, so maybe 1.5 million will do so. 4 million counts children
