@aaronjmate There have already been multiple assassination and coup attempts over the years. Why would we need to know about some "secret authorization"? And there is no such thing anyways. The CIA does "covert action" everywhere at all times.

This strikes me as a very, very authorized leak. As if the Trump admin, at the highest levels, wants the world, especially Venezuela, to know about it. In other words, it's less exposing a massive covert operation but part of a propaganda campaign to destabilize Venezuela.
