I finally got to try midjourney v8! I thought the facial features are sometimes cuter in v7 with the same prompt, so it's probably a matter of preference. The details of the fingers and body are still a bit messy, though. I'll try out more!

If you expect any sympathy to prevent progress or DLSS adoption (already >80%) good luck with that. This is an EARTHQUAKE MOMENT. Worshipping human-artists-as-gods who shouldn't have AI augment their work is hastening their obsolescence and retirement. We're all screwed anyway.

Why are artists are the ONLY people in the game ind. who count, suddenly? AI replaces art? LABEL IT AI replaces code? ... As a AAA vet, I've never ONCE seen ANYONE but coders at the office past midnight. Not once. QA often works late too but not as hard/late as devs. Sorry. No.

@BattleAxeVR for real, for real. if i remember correctly, the artists were mostly watching YouTube. In any case, I have no fear of being replaced. It's impossible. Feels like insecurity.

@cybereality @AIandDesign In the overall quantities they were a minority and in situations where there was a critical mass they oftentimes did. The way current power is held is (mostly) not through direct threat, but propaganda, lies and brainwashing.

Isn't it completely INSANE that we're in the 21st century and a handful of demented geriatric freaks can literally ruin everything for everyone else on the entire planet? How and when are we going to stop this?

I don't care if people call it AI slop. Vibe coding games is fun. It's become my main hobby now, and no one can take that away from me.

You know what I’ve noticed for a while? So many people in this world, and even in my own social circle, follow social norms not because they truly want to, but because they feel pressure to meet expectations and keep the people around them happy. Let me explain. A lot of people choose careers, lifestyles, and even relationships based on what will make their parents proud or help them look successful in the eyes of others. But deep down, I often get the sense that they want something completely different. It’s subtle, but you can see it in their hesitation, their lack of enthusiasm, even in their body language. Why does this happen? Part of it comes down to how we’re raised. From a young age, we’re rewarded for approval and discouraged from disappointing others. Over time, many people start tying their self-worth to validation, especially from family. So instead of asking, “What do I actually want?”, the question becomes, “What will make me accepted, respected, or loved?” There’s also fear, fear of judgment, rejection, or failure. Choosing your own path means risking criticism or even losing support from the people closest to you. For many, it feels safer to follow a script than to stand out and potentially fail. Social comparison plays a role too. When everyone around you is chasing similar milestones, prestigious careers, marriage, status, it creates an invisible pressure to keep up. Even if it doesn’t feel right personally, people don’t want to feel left behind. You can see this mindset in everyday situations: “I hate my job, but it pays well and looks good on paper. I can’t quit now because people would think I failed.” “I don’t even like this field, but I’ve already invested so many years into it. I might as well keep going.” “I want to travel or try something different, but that’s not ‘stable.’ I should just stick to a safe path.” “I’m going to buy this expensive car or house so people can see I’ve made it.” “I’m staying in this relationship because it looks perfect from the outside, even though I’m not really happy.” “I don’t actually enjoy going out or partying, but everyone else is doing it, so I feel like I have to.” “I want to start something creative, but what if people think it’s stupid or I fail publicly?” “I’ll choose a ‘respectable’ career first, and maybe later I’ll do what I really want, but later never comes.” “I don’t agree with this, but I’ll just go along with it to avoid conflict.” In moments like these, the motivation isn’t always genuine desire, it’s often pressure, fear, or the need for validation. And honestly, it’s kind of sad. Not because people are weak, but because many don’t even realize they’re living for someone else’s expectations. It becomes so normalized that it feels like their own choice. Has anyone else noticed this in their circle?
