@GovtsTheProblem Colorado law says only 2 of the 3 members can be from the same political party. Currently, 2 are Democrats. The third member is an “independent”, but he’s a former Democratic state representative.

All of the current members of the Colorado PUC were appointed by Colorado Gov Jared Polis(D) and approved by the Democrats in the Colorado Legislature. #copolitics

Colorado Gov Jared Polis (D) has some strong words for Xcel Energy's handling of pre-emptive power outages. In fact, some of the same strong words Polis used the last time Xcel did this.

@SeanPaige After it's gone someone should buy the building and turn it into a night club. Pay back for what was done to St. Mark’s Parish Church in Denver.

Ignore the usual hysteria from the Chicken Little Lobby. At least 13 federal agencies are seriously involved in climate related research or science. The idea that NCAR is the indispensable hub of all that activity, or that weather forecasting will go away and we will be plunged back into the dark ages if some NCAR tasks or personnel are reassigned, is just absurd. @GovofCO Polis and other Dems are freaking out because liberal Boulder is sacred ground for them; it's the source of a lot of political donations and support. NCAR has for decades been a highly profitable political pork barrel. But even more than that, it became the great temple of the climate cult, where the high priests cranked out the doomsday dogma that's used to justify a total government takeover of the energy sector and economy. NCAR is a sacred cow not just because it funnels federal funds into Boulder, but because it churns out propaganda that supports one party's command-and-control economic agenda. Democrats don't just love the NCAR pork; they also love the NCAR propaganda. Some of what NCAR does might be essential, and worth preserving. But it, like almost all federal entities, has drifted far from its original mission and has taken on roles and tasks that are arguably non-essential. Separating the chaff from the wheat is inconvenient and painful for Democrats and Boulderites, but it must be done if we are going to scale back the bloat, waste, and redundancy that made the federal government into a monster. Let's hold our fire until we see the details of what Trump is proposing. We're not going to get back to a manageable, efficient and affordable federal government without slaughtering some "sacred cows." And some of those cows just might be in Colorado. #copolitics #ncar #coleg @GovofCO @SenatorBennet @SenatorHick @WhiteHouse

The National Science Foundation will be breaking up the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. This facility is one of the largest sources of climate alarmism in the country. A comprehensive review is underway & any vital activities such as weather research will be moved to another entity or location. 👇 usatoday.com/story/news/pol…

Xcel is supposed to be a regulated monopoly. The PUC is supposed to ensure rates reflect actual costs, infrastructure needs, and a reasonable profit while being fair to customers. The PUC consists of 3 members. Eric Blank (Democrat), Megan Gilman (Democrat), and Tom Plant ("Independent") Plant is a former Democratic state representative. No Republican commissioners since around 2019.

Under Colorado Democrats, Xcel Energy is increasing rates by nearly 10% — and at the same time threatening days-long power shutoffs.   So let me get this straight: Coloradans are paying higher costs for less reliability?   Absolutely unacceptable.
