@matvelloso Just the app registration, or working application code? (And is it cheating if I used to work at MSFT AAD)

I invite you to try to create a simple, functioning OAUTH app on both Google's and Microsoft's identity systems. Just that. Start with nothing, and count how long it takes.

As someone who uses both Slack and Teams for work every single day... Teams is better. It's more logical, less noisy, threads don't just disappear, you can find things, the AI integration is actually great. I'm sorry. Teams is just better.

@yenkel Disagree that this is necessarily a bad thing. Raises the bar for integrating (i.e. you have to build proper software, such as authing your API requests, which he may not have been doing) and helps keep the system stable for everyone else.

@mayank_jee @marcusash I think you should assume "apps" here refer to OS apps (eg start menu, notepad, explorer, etc), not Office apps, as those have large teams of their own.

can we expect a native mail client or is that impossible now? new Outlook is a dumpster fire -- it's slow, takes seconds to open email from notifications, and when it opens, i am redirected to the inbox, not the mail. it's genuinely frustrating these are few of my complaints, but the list goes on i prefer the original UWP Mail for my personal use, and Outlook Classic for work.

@edandersen Agree directionally, but disagree about outright banning, as I think one of MSFT's greatest strengths is the culture of dogfooding and of using competitors (and APL's lack thereof is one of their greatest weaknesses).

The best thing you could do it ban the use of macOS especially amongst the “designers” of Windows - it’s clear W11 was designed by people that never used Windows (the first release had forced centered taskbar icons, no labels, no right click task manager) If someone on the Apple campus whipped out a Surface Pro in a meeting they would be fired on the spot. The rest of the company should also be forced to dogfood Windows. Every day. To do their work. Like you expect your customers to. (This also goes for Teams etc - GitHub 8 years later should not be on Slack; it’s insulting to your customers that your own teams won’t use your stuff)
March Rogers@marchr

I'm really excited for the work we're doing on Windows to improve the quality and craft of the OS. I work on the Windows design system & core surfaces (like taskbar, start, & settings). If there's something you'd like to see improved in the design of Windows, let me know!

@preston_holland Terrible take on his part though, as windows are needed for safety (regardless of plane size).

Kenn Ricci is one of the icons in our industry. Love seeing him getting more main stream coverage!
TBPN@tbpn

Flexjet chairman @kennricci says private airplanes won't have windows anymore: "The number one thing we're going to see is windows go away from airplanes. Today... 50% of aircraft windows fail when installed." - "Embraer announced the smart window in their Praetor 600. They've taken out one of the windows in the aft part of the cabin and instead they put a digital screen." "You can make that screen look outside because there are cameras outside. In flight, you can make it day, you can make it night." "We'll get to the point where we eliminate passenger windows, and it won't be long after that where we'll get rid of the cockpit windows."

@flightradar24 @hadi_fq Even showing one time (eg latest or most common) and ellipses (or something to indicate there are most than one possible times) would be a really nice ux improvement.

@hadi_fq The problem is that many flight numbers have different departure times on different days. Many flight numbers are also used on several different routes.

What the tour has effectively done to Rahm, Bryson, and Cam Smith is given them a second chance to sellout all over again. Assuming they’re able to get out of their deal like Brooks did (not a guarantee), they’d be recommitting to collecting paychecks from a tour that may be in peril. The PGA Tour is clearly, without any question, the most competitive tour in the world. They’ve made a TON of money from the Saudis already. Continuing on with them when given a one time option to rejoin the tour with the best players… man what a fascinating couple of weeks this is gonna be!

@adamdotdev Yeah, in theory an easy footgun, especially if you start messing with custom rules. Also good to verify robots.txt, but that looks fine from what I see currently. I would also just have one rel="icon" entry in html, and make it an ico/png file that is at least 48x48 and square.
