@ernestdove Manaea has been relatively effective with low velocity the last few times out. The question is can he fine tune that skill before hitters start catching onto his pitches bc of smaller the velocity difference.

Sean Manaea continues to state he's 100% healthy............so it is what is. We root for him to "find it" because hes not going anywhere. Hes already been demoted to pen to begin with. Cant hide him too in there.

Brooks Raley wasn’t available today, per Carlos Mendoza. That’s why Richard Lovelady was spent today. The game didn’t even come down to that issue, anyway. They were anemic at the plate, and they just left the door open for the pirates. simple as that. #Mets

Mendoza said he was OK with send of Lindor in the last inning because before this series they planned to be aggressive on Pirates outfielders. Went so far as to say he was hoping Soto’s ball wouldn’t hop over the fence so Lindor would have a chance to go. Credited PIT execution

This is a lowkey fantastic bench add. Showed pop his 1st 3 years. Plays the outfield…and dude even plays some catcher. Melendez gives the Mets a 3rd catcher when they need one.

@johnsaponaro I’ve noticed this from several former GMs. Bowden was bashing stearns a week ago for a terrible offseason, even though he perfectly well that you can’t judge it before the offseason is over.

I simply wouldn’t pay attention to what 2 failed Mets GMs had to say about anything. Especially when neither guy was ever a GM after their miserable stints here. But again, that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♂️ #LGM #Mets

@WexlerRules @78ATHOF I think they believe Baty can play LF (he has at least a little experience there). Could see him picking up 1B glove too. Backup shortstop is the more obvious need unless they plan on having Mauricio on the roster.

Maybe being greedy but I wouldn’t mind another OF like Hays (or more likely Marte) or even a Pham-type as a hedge in case Benge proves he’s not yet ready for prime-time. Some of the best players in the sport had rocky starts #Mets

@CobyWanKanobi @Jolly_Olive In 2027 I would have liked to see Jett push Semien out of the spot, but I don't think its a dire need unless Semien really drops off defensively. If Bichette sticks around you can put Baty at 2B. Haven't given up on Mauricio either. Hopefully Ewing is ready by 2028.

@CobyWanKanobi @Jolly_Olive Why do you need middle infielders in the upper minors? You've got Lindor for 6 more years and Semien for 3. Plus Mauricio and Baty who can slide in in case of injury at either position. You want them at mid to low minors rn. ETA 2028 works for 2B.
