@TPEassist travelling from liverpool to Glasgow are their gate restrictions if we just go to Edinburgh instead on our cancelled Friday tickets ? Thanks

Cllr Jo Bird: It’s just absolutely essential that violent and dangerous driving is addressed in New Ferry. Every day there’s speeding cars down the road. A lot of drivers use it as a road, even though it’s very clearly signed Pedestrian Zone. There should be no cars there before 4:30 when it’s fine to go for loading and unloading for local businesses. So what assurances can you give me about how traffic is going to be discouraged and slowed right down to make it safe for children who use it for the school run? Regeneration Manager: Thanks, Jo. So the design of the public realm will discourage drivers from using that as a road. It will not appear as a straight run through. It will have planters, there will be street furniture that will discourage that just by the visual approach to the road. But it will not be restrictive for loading and unloading for businesses. To make sure that there still is vehicular access - but it isn’t encouraged to make it an easy run through. In addition to that, there will be ANPR installed. Fixed Penalty Notices will then be issued for any use of that as a road during those restricted hours.
