Maybe these kids don't like getting replaced with AI. Maybe there is more to AI than the pure cold technical aspects of it. AI is not going to improve these people's lives. Is it going to improve some other people's lives? Maybe entrepreneurs? Even solo founders? Yes, it will but these students? No it won't.

The kids are not alright. When @ericschmidt talks about AI, people should listen. He is a deep thinker, true innovator, and a truth teller about what's happening in tech -- and more tuned into AI's impact on society and cultural fabric than most of the ruling class. We can't let AI become yet another topic where people dig into their identity-informed polarized corners, and shout and jeer at those on the other side.

The kids are alright!! Former CEO of Google Eric Schmidt gets booed every time he mentions artificial intelligence during his commencement speech at the University of Arizona. This generation just may save humanity after all.

@Saskkiii Girl, that’s AI. No one is being apologetic or trying help. Go disagree with any AI and you’ll get the same rhetoric.

@adcock_brett I'd be more impressed if it identified different package types and routed them to different conveyer belts at that speed

@adcock_brett Cool demo but what is the value in flipping everything over? Is that a real sorting value-add never before possible with current tech?

@ProfCalNewport is this what is meant by my-expert-versus-yours debates on AI? Your quoted experts aren't concerned, but the other side has experts saying yes. Both appealing to authority claiming a win: fortune.com/2026/04/23/ant…

@FatherPhi the model gave the right answer. you're posting because it was nice about it. i think you wanted it to shut you down. that isn't an intelligence difference, it's a open personality. curious and probing your idea. it never backed down though

@mreflow the gpt2 call was mostly correct. not that model but trendline. it did change how college grading is done, interview assessments, screenwriting, the influx of ai-generated content. privacy and writing copyright issues. All accurate

@mreflow Not sure what point you're trying to make. Both situations can be correct. at each step-change it's worth pausing and releasing responsibly. there will be another step-change in the future that we should carefully assess what its implications are

There's a few people out there who have seen the current day narrative repeated over and over again... I present to you an article from 2019 that describes why GPT-2 is too dangerous to release to the public.

@jtregunna If they get in your face after you've tried to back up and told them to leave you alone. the moment they ball their fists up and lean in you hit them. the dont-hit-first idea comes from not having kids go around and start altercations

Hi, I'm part of the problem. Story time! My oldest daughter, was the tallest kid in her class until 6th or 7th grade. In Kindergarden, a boy pushes her, and she tells the teacher. Teacher does nothing. My kid tells her mom and I when we pick her up. I tell her that if someone hits her, she's within her right to hit them back, but if they stop hitting her, she needs to stop too. I told her that she should never be the first one to hit someone, but if she needs to the be last one to hit someone who hit her, she's never going to get in trouble with me. Next day, same kid, hits my daughter, so she pushes him and he falls. Cries like he's being murdered apparently, and the teacher gets involved, sends my kid to talk to the principal. I talked to the principal, explained this story to him, and told him if he needs to suspend my kid, do it. At the time, I told her the school can make problems for her, but if they do, I'll talk to the school. So yeah, I guess I'm part of the problem. But you see, I want my kids to be prepared for the real world, because we live in the real world.
Rhoda@Symply_rhoda1

Parents, please stop sending your kids to school with the mindset of “if someone hits you, hit them back.” You are part of the problem.

@jtregunna This, plus my kid doesn't have to be hit first. If someone is in a fighting stance and raises their fist to you don't wait for them to hit you like a sheep waiting for a technicality.

@JustinCLeto @Kalshi @CNBC What!? Someone else who can't separate the hosts being confused from the ceo being unprepared. He clearly explained it. It's not his job to keep them from being tripped up by simple comparisons

CEO of @Kalshi is woefully unprepared for this @CNBC interview regarding what is and isn’t material non-public info. Great work by the team in CNBC for pointing out the flaws in sites like Kalahi. It seems the CEO wants to completely change what is considered insider trading to suit his platform. But that’s not how it works.
