Bittersweet moment as today I am officially dissolving my freelancing company, X7 Media, LLC. But don't worry I will be back in 2026 with a new project! I will be working on starting a new company focused of providing websites to churches and other faith based ministries called MinistrySites. I will be sharing more as I build it in the coming year, so if you're even remotely interested in the project please feel free to follow me (what seriously you're not already?). And if you happen to belong to a church or other faith based ministry who's looking for a website in 2026 feel free to reach out.

@SusieM414141 Not as bad but my rental property has this 😂 definitely got a killer price because it scared lots of buyers away.

You found the house of your dreams online, but when you went to see it in person, this is what you saw. How are you supposed to use the garage? Hope it was a good deal.

@LibertyJen Not my thing but the result is sorta impressive in its own right. Especially since one wrong move and you just bought a oversized overpriced paper weght. But how do they expect to resell the house with that, or are they taking the fridge with them when they move out?

I need recommendations for a todo list app to track my progress towards vibe coding my own todo list app.

@TailosiveTech Yeah and we all dumped Cable TV for a reason. The world has moved on. Ads made sense in the 50s and a way for people to discover new products. Now people just Google (or ask AI) when they need to find a product to fill a need.

@ryanwebdev First you must vibe code the app to help you track the progress of vibe coding your progress tracker. Classic chicken and egg scenario

With AI writing so much code, have all the Laravel peeps stopped unguarding models now? I know that used to be popular though I never did it. I feel like with AI writing code, explicitly defining what should be fillable is even more important than before.

@enunomaduro The problem with Github Desktop is there is no Linux version. Honestly I'm still using PHP Storm with its built in diff viewing.

really think on this agentic era, github desktop is underrated.. literally gives a clean full diff of the things you are about to commit.. claude code + github desktop is the wombo combo

@ivanburazin A password manager solves the big one, forgetting passwords. And honestly avoiding SMS 2FA whenever possible, I use either my Yubikey if possible, or a authentication app code in my password manager. Unfortunately some sites are still stuck with email and/or SMS 2FA only.

Took me 45 mins to buy FIFA for my nephew on PlayStation because of login issues. Would've been far easier to just drive to the store and buy a disk. Every account has some stupid verification loop: 2FA on old phone numbers, credit cards that expired, passwords you forgot, blah blah. All the security layers meant to stop spam ended up making everything unusable. With device fingerprints and face id/fingerprint, this stuff should be seamless. Curious why no one has tried solving this. Ik am not the only one struggling with this.

Not having vim installed on a Nixos fresh install is painful. The first thing I have to do is clumsily use nano to install nvim. Only to find the package is neovim and back to nano it is.

@DanielW_Kiwi Nobody can remember vim keybindings, too complicated. Nano has the important ones on the legend on the bottom of the screen. I'm just too lazy to learn vim.

@filippkowalski I don't really bother writing reviews for good things. But will write a review when something is bad or does not work. Apps try to counter this with please review us popups but I find those so annoying it makes me not want to give them a review at all tbh. Idk how to fix that.

If you're bothered by your Android users giving you 1-star reviews, remember that Google Maps, which is FREE and provides A TON of value, has an average rating of 3.2 🤡

@penberg Anthropic doesn't know how to play nice. But people are still convinced its meaningfully better than Codex when they're basically equivalent at this point. Honestly the only reason I still use Claude is to have a separate planning & review model from my coding model.

@awcodes1 The good thing about it is you can upgrade right away, and the package author can merge your PR or not. For me I'd actually appreciate it, assuming I don't get like 50 different upgrade PRs. Waiting is also fine, but just a good reminder for anyone who does want to upgrade now.

@ryanwebdev For sure, I’m just not the guy trying to force any package to support before they are ready. Also not a slight on laravel or shift.

Unfortunately neither the laravel ai upgrade skill nor shift work if your app depends on a package that doesn’t support laravel 13 yet. Oh well.
