@NASAAdmin @AstroVicGlover One of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He generously took the time to listen to you ask questions about you. He didn’t make it about him.

Our Artemis II astronaut @AstroVicGlover has built a remarkable career as a naval aviator, test pilot, and astronaut. Listening to him talk about the updated Artemis architecture, you realize how quickly the path to space is changing. We’re not just flying a mission, we’re building the foundation for sustained exploration beyond Earth.

My wall connector is giving me a high temp fault after 6 years. Still charging but throttles to 40A. Anyone know how to fix this? Loose connections maybe? It’s winter so nothing is getting warm due to the weather.

@IowaTesla @iSpaceXplorer Newer ship installs get one single “dishy” called a Starlink gateway. This is that big dome. Also Jim perfect time for a cruise this snow is kinda crazy, too bad no FSD tests from you.

FYI, back end infrastructure that supports the Tesla Mobile app and third party APIs are not working at the moment. Normally these things pass quickly, but will send out another update when things are working. And yes you can still drive your car in the outage 🤣 things like digital key authentication happens offline and directly with your phone!
Teslascope@teslascope

The @Tesla mobile app and all third-parties are currently impacted by issues with Tesla’s infrastructure. This affects the app’s ability to interact with vehicles. We are seeing all requests failing in North America, and degraded experiences across Europe and the United Kingdom.

“Cap”, our 2023 Model 3 Turo rental was in an accident the other day. The guest called me right away to inform me of the accident. Fortunately, the guest was not injured and was in good spirits after I explained the damage claim process. The at-fault driver provided their insurance and accepted responsibility. Hopefully, this is repaired quickly and Cap is back on trips soon.

UPDATE: I’ve arrived at the Tesla. I took a quick walk around the Tesla and found damage on the driver door. Once I entered the Tesla, I found a very strong weed odor. As expected, there was plenty of evidence to satisfy the Turo smoking violation requirements. I snapped a few close-up photos of the weed bud, ash, and a black and mild wrapper. For the ash, it’s best practice to take a before photo, disturb the ash, then take an after photo so it’s not able to be considered a small rock or other debris. I emailed the support rep that reported the initial denial and asked that they review the new photos and reconsider the smoking violation. The damage is minor but meets the criteria since it exceeds 3 inches in length. Anything 3 inches or less is considered exterior wear and tear and does not qualify. I’ve already submitted the damage claim and escalated it to Turo-managed because the guest definitely won’t cooperate to get this fixed. Let’s see if this smoking violation is rightfully approved and how much the damage estimate will be. Stay tuned. 🍿

UPDATE: This is Olaf. The one that was allegedly being used to DoorDash. I decided to submit the smoking violation using the photos my co-host took last night. Unfortunately, the smoking violation was denied. In their “Error in reporting” email, they did not offer the specific reason it was denied. I figured there was a chance that they denied it because the photos were taken outside of the 24hrs post trip since the guest never extended. To confirm, I had to call Turo Power Host support. They said that there was insufficient evidence. Since my co-host won’t be home to take additional photos before 1PM (that’s 24hrs past the actual trip return time), I packed up the kids and will be heading to snag some photos. I had a feeling before submission that they would deny because they are very particular about the “evidence”. I will need close-up photos of the marijuana bud and ash. Stay tuned. 🍿

Shout out to @Tesla for standing behind their products. After working with me to troubleshoot the discontinued J1772 Wallconnector, they are sending me a free Universal Wallconnector as a replacement. No pushback no hassle, just great support and service. Much appreciated guys!

@EZebroni How much do certificates cost to purchase? Got my CC2s from discount tire.

I just paid $17 for a brand new tire for one of my Turo rentals! As a Turo host, the most costly maintenance item for our Teslas every year is TIRES. That’s why we use Discount Tire for all of our tire needs. Whether it’s a new set of tires or tire repairs, they always get our business. Most importantly, we ALWAYS purchase certificates for our tires. This afternoon, I hopped in our 2023 Model 3 RWD to take it for a state inspection and immediately noticed a TPMS alert: flat passenger rear tire. I filled up the tire and drove over to our local Discount Tire location. They quickly found the screw, determined it was on the sidewall and needed to be replaced, and told me it would be covered by the certificates we had on the tires. The only cost, the $17, was to add a certificate to the near tire. What a deal. And to make things even better, the damaged tire was the only tire that was showing lower tread. If you purchase a new vehicle and you don’t have tire coverage, swing by Discount Tire and have them add certificates to your new tires. It’s well worth it. Trust me.

The H3-F8/QZS-5 launch failure just got a whole lot weirder. Further analysis by JAXA indicates the payload adapter was damaged during fairing separation, causing the satellite to separate with part of the adapter when thrust from the rocket ended during MECO.

Initial analysis from JAXA suggests the failure started at fairing separation, with abnormal accelerations measured on the payload adapter. Onboard camera's show heavy damage to the QZS-5 satellite, and it looks like they might have even lost the whole satellite at some point.
