@LizzieMarbach @TheMuppetPastor I know how much you value Scripture. Sincerely. This naturally leads to asking: where does Scripture teach that God only speaks to us through Scripture?

@TheMuppetPastor Respectfully, that’s a serious mischaracterization. Cessationists believe that God is all-powerful & do not believe he lacks any power or ability. It is not a matter of power. It is simply a matter how we believe he reveals himself to us **today.**

The sad God of cessationism lacks power, and binds Himself only to a Bible , which itself testifies of God frequently speaking to others audibly and without record in scripture. We don’t know exactly what God said to Deborah, Nathan, Hilda’s, Anna, Huldah, yet we know He did even if the exact words aren’t in the bible. I understand many people lie, but this is tossing out the baby with the bath water. 1 John tells us to test every spirit against scripture, not outright deny it. Who are we to disregard this?

@Nomad_95Bin248 It’s in sync. Why is a New Covenant necessary if we can achieve righteousness by our own strength alone?

@ManofGod1414 @osasisHERESY “Things that were in the flesh and literal were in the old covenant and now… things are spiritual.” This is why I asked it. Bodily resurrection means physical reality is not simply an obsolete old covenant category.

Zion in the old testament refers to the land of Israel Zion in the new testament refers to heaven There is no verse in the new testament calling Israel Zion Its clear how things are redefined but uses the same language in the new covenant in Christ Things that were in the flesh and literal were in the old covenant and now with the Holy Spirit given to us in the new covenant things are spiritual and you see this all throughout the new testament so calling God a zionist according to man's definition is wrong Zion is heaven now not land His people are now in Christ

@osasisHERESY Correction: we don’t understand your surface level, out of context reading of the New Testament. I’ve never seen you exegete anything on this subject in a coherent way. Just a little dog with a loud bark.

@TruthSynod I hope this question doesn’t come across as me saying I’ve got it all figured out. I don’t. This is more about one’s attitude towards scripture and a willingness to keep learning and receiving correction.

Many are so entrenched in their theological systems that Scripture could slap them in the face and they wouldn’t be moved. If you neuter Scripture with your presuppositions then what’s its purpose?

Its amazing how there are 8 to 12 different organizations who have documented the atrocities that have happened in Gaza and the majority have declared Israel has and is still committing genocide Only a couple have said Israel has not committed genocide and those couple are big pro Israel organizations So the majority say they're committing genocide So Israel commits genocide Christians say Israel is God's nation and God is protecting Israel Is God approving of the genocide or is god approving of it? What's crazy is the biggest thing I've noticed is zionist Christians completely reject the fact that Israel is committing genocide and they call it propaganda This is shocking and saddening how absolutely blinded Christians have become and they have the audacity to call this a chosen nation of God and say Christians must support Israel Do not associate the Lord with warmongering devils This has nothing to do with jews so spare me your "you hate jews" comments I don't care what color your skin is or what your ethnicity is evil is evil

@SaltyC2009 @jakobe291 @osasisHERESY Precisely. They were His people even in unbelief because the calling superseded performance. The calling does not depend upon human performance which is why Paul says the “gifts and calling are irrevocable.”

@scripturesvoice @jakobe291 @osasisHERESY But they were still God’s people. He fed them and led them through the wilderness miraculously, and most importantly, He set up His tabernacle and sacrificial system with them. I’m not sure this example is similar to their outright rejection of God for the last 2 centuries.

There are a total number of 0 verses in the new testament that states that the land of Canaan (Israel today) is promised to the Jewish people Does that mean I want the jews to be cast out of Israel? Of course not I don't really care Don't be silly I'm merely pointing out the fact that the doctrine zionists hold so dearly to their hearts is not reiterated in the new testament and there's a reason for that The new testament has plenty of verses where the Bible makes it clear that these promises are now fulfilled in Christ with different meanings Zionists will say people who believe what the Bible teaches overspiritualize the new testament but the new testament consistently teaches that the promises are now spiritual in Christ like many other principles based on the Spirit The new testament is all about the Holy Spirit that God has given us That's the only way for a follower of Christ to live is by the power of the Holy Spirit Zionists today teach zionism like its some huge important doctrine for Christians and it's actually not It's not taught anywhere in the new testament

@SaltyC2009 @jakobe291 @osasisHERESY Here’s a way to think of it. “Calling” is real a thing but it doesn’t guarantee the possession of inheritance. Here’s a biblical example: Moses’s generation was called to take the land but did not because of unbelief. Joshua’s generation did cause the calling remained.

@scripturesvoice @RileySDG7 @ZacharyGarris Completely agree, but there’s an immediate warning the line if fine between subpar but barely saved (1 Cor 3:15) and destroy the church and get destroyed (1 Cor 3:16–17). We shouldn’t toe the line of apostasy.

Calvin on Romans 2:5 “This is a remarkable passage: we may hence learn what I have already referred to — that the ungodly not only accumulate for themselves daily a heavier weight of God’s judgments, as long as they live here, but that the gifts of God also, which they continually enjoy, shall increase their condemnation; for an account of them all will be required: and it will then be found, that it will be justly imputed to them as an extreme wickedness, that they had been made worse through God’s bounty, by which they ought surely to have been improved. Let us then take heed, lest by unlawful use of blessings we lay up for ourselves this cursed treasure.”

@RileySDG7 @ZacharyGarris Primary causes can never be set against secondary causes. God uses the good works He gives us to justify us on the Day of Judgment (1 Cor 4:4–5, Jas 2:24, Matt 12:37). If the good works are missing on that Great Day, our justification will be missing too.

@osasisHERESY Anyone who says that unbelieving Jews inherit the promises doesn’t understand the OT or the NT. Unbelievers have never inherited the promises of God. However, this doesn’t mean that “gifts and calling” are not there. This is where a nuanced discussion is required.

@Little_Ms_Nope In fact, Isaiah has much to say about Israel’s rebellion. You, however, want to paint Israel as a righteous sufferer. I don’t see this as faithful to the full witness of Scripture which does the opposite. In fact, Scripture condemns all nations as being wicked. 2/2

@Little_Ms_Nope We could go round and round. I appreciate your thoughtful response. This is the last thing I’ll say then you can have the final word. Torah and the prophets restated continuously that Israel’s scattering and suffering was due to their disobedience. 1/2

Isaiah 53 explained in the most simple way possible. Long ago, HaShem chose the Jewish people to be His special helper in the world. He called them "My servant" The servant (the Jewish people) had a very hard life. Other nations were mean to them. They hurt them, pushed them around, and made them suffer a lot. The Jewish people were and still are like a sad, hurt person that nobody wanted to look at. The other nations think: "HaShem must be punishing the Jews because they are bad" But one day, those same nations will open their eyes and say "Wait, we were wrong!" "We are the ones who did bad things. The Jewish people were hurt because of us" They carried our mistakes and our meanness on their shoulders. They suffered so much, but they stayed HaShems helper" And HaShem says the Jewish people did not deserve all that pain. In the end, HaShem will make everything right and show the whole world that the Jews are His special servant. And when He does, His Name will fill the world and everyone will know HaShem.
