The worst feeling is watching the stock you follow for a year keep going up and you don't have enough of it. Price anchor can be difficult. I understand the psychological effect very much, and you try to master it. A lot of people don't understand value properly. Value is not price you pay, value is what you get for price you pay.

@DeepValueBagger Worst part isn’t missing the move. It’s knowing you saw it coming, believed in it, and still didn’t commit. That’s not bad luck. That’s a risk management lesson.

@DeepValueBagger no the worse feeling is selling MU at $102 after having thousands of shares under $98. Watching it rip for nearly 9 months with no stop and no shares left. Missed becoming a multimillionaire and lost my only near million instead can't make that shit up

@DeepValueBagger Do not anchor price to what it was previously, anchor that to the valuation and growth.

@DeepValueBagger I have been feeling late to the game, but with things moving so quickly I am reminded of 2 stocks that made me the most money over the years. I bought both at all time highs. It takes conviction to hold, but patience pays when it is a good company.

💯 What you said and the way you put it is so underrated. I have been thinking about it and never understood how to express it. Thanks. I am trapped by this psychology and am working to break it. I have been obsessed with cost basis since the early days and don’t know why. I buy over time, but only after my initial investment has shown amazing results. Then I wait a few months or even years before adding more. By that time, some have run up so much that I feel stupid and tell myself, “Can you just stop acting too cocky and buy it and ride it out!”🤦🏻‍♂️ I am too patient for the stupid stuff!! 🤣

@DeepValueBagger I guess I am capped in my likely stock growth potential partly as I'd see this as very low on my worst feeling list. I'm ok with this and I have some admiration for those that feel this way (and smash it like DVB).

@DeepValueBagger Every missed trade feels like a lesson. The actual lesson is usually about position sizing, not the price you refused to pay.

@DeepValueBagger That’s hindsight talking. As someone who has 400+ tickers in my portfolio, I don’t think of it like that. I just size up on pullbacks. Nobody could know that stock XYZ would go +500% and thus you full port into it.
