Why did one cause an uproar and the other not so much? Legitimately curious and don’t have an agenda. Thoughts?

@DevInTheLab Because what he did was normal in the fight game… i dont remember the last time lebron or curry chased and opponent around the court to taunt them when they secured a championship… this happens all the time in ufc

@DevInTheLab bad comparison. Showmanship and cocky behavior is legit ENGRAINED in combat sports. Some of it is to do with woman not being seen as competitive people, but it’s mostly due to the very different cultures in the sports

@DevInTheLab Because one was part of a long time beef and it was a combat sport, while the other was just taunting a crowd favorite yt woman. Idk but the comparison to these two isn’t even parallel. 2 totally different situations

@DevInTheLab Clark did it when they were in the middle of the game before they had a large lead and was talking her shit. Reese did it at the end of the game with the game clearly under control and the way she followed her around doing it was way more disrespectful the Clark’s half a second

@DevInTheLab I’m more wondering (not actually wondering) why this was made out to be a big deal while Clark taunting the SC player just a few days prior wasn’t. Neither is a big deal, it’s standard competitive trash talk. They just don’t like the black girl doing it.

@DevInTheLab Team sports have different etiquette. Taunting is part of boxing, MMA. I'm fine with the taunting in Bball as long as you can also punch their lights out w/o penalty too. If you disrespect, you have to pay the tax. In Boxing/MMA, if you taunt they are allowed to collect taxes.

@DevInTheLab Reese first did the gesture at the free throw line next to Clark, which Clark ignored. So @ the end of the game when Reese should’ve been celebrating, she followed Clark like a puppy dog all the way to Iowa’s bench because she wanted Clark to acknowledge her.

@DevInTheLab Months of shit talking and prior history is way different than playing the victim as if Clark ever disrespected LSU. LSU wanted to act like Clark was talking bad on their name for stuff than happened against SC. They sought out the attention, this was actually personal for Izzy.

@DevInTheLab My honest thoughts is how differently they went about it. Clark was a simple after bucket thing, angel followed her around the court constantly tryna get her to see it. Ian have a problem wit either but I clearly see tht difference

@DevInTheLab Different energies the sports carry! Fighting for your life and hooping are different atmospheres. Angel wasn’t even guarding Caitlin and chased her down 😂 they had nothing to do with each other!

@DevInTheLab Probably a few reasons: - Different sport (UFC vs College Hoops) - Different context (individual vs team sport) - Number of eyes on the moment (don’t think UFC PPV pulled 9.9m eyes) - Gender? (Probably some legitimacy here, but definitely not the only contributing factor)

@DevInTheLab One guy is celebrating after he did a great thing. The other just wanted to taunt an opposing player & waited until the game was over to do it If Reese had hit a big shot or blocked a shot into the stands & then done it, she wouldn’t have got as much hate. What she did was corny.

@DevInTheLab I’ve seen more people talking about how this caused an uproar than I’ve seen an actual uproar about it. There’s a vocal minority of people that got salty Iowa lost and took that out on Angel Reese, that’s it.
