@Jason Why does any city need a light rail anymore when they can just hire autonomous vehicles for a lot less?

@Jason LRT is not a good deal for taxpayers IMHO Boring tunnels + Robotaxi will provide a way better experience for taxpayers and way cheaper @robotaxi @elonmusk

@Jason It doesn’t even connect to the airport, it stops at hotels a mile or so away and you have to transfer to a shuttle bus. If there was a station inside the airport and you could take it straight to downtown, out of town visitors might actually use it.

@Jason Texas is one of the very few places in the US where high speed rail would be very valuable. San Antonio, Austin, Houston and Dallas connected via high speed rail would unlock tremendous productivity in the region.

@Jason I'm radicalized - not a single yard of light rail should be constructed in the US until the design is signed-off by a native Japanese Principal Engineer classically trained in developing & shipping modern transit systems

@Jason Jason, love the passion for light rail, but it's fighting a losing battle. Robotaxis are already here—Tesla's flexing with supervised rides in Austin, scaling unsupervised fast. Door-to-door, cheaper, no fixed routes? The rail's obsolete before it's built.

@Jason Nooo!! Bring @boringcompany tunnels instead! We all know how this plays out: outdated infrastructure + ballooning taxpayer costs + years of delays. Or… we go private: faster, safer, scalable, and actually innovative.
