@PrestonSprinkle I don't know any Christians who would say they have allegiance to any political party. I do know Christians who vote and advocate for good laws though. Is that what you're talking about?
English

@PrestonSprinkle You're gonna talk about the political idolatry of the post-war consensus and how it has duped Christians, right?
English

Possible errors in Christian political engagement are not the same as political engagement itself being inherently problematic. I hope you are just as willing to speak loudly on why supporting leftist projects like abortion, gender transitions for youth, shrinking religious liberty, and Marxist ideologies in school will never be for the common good. It's easy to be a leader who issues warnings about pitfalls, but a lot more difficult to exhort Christians to take unpopular positions for the glory of God and the good of society.
If we won't speak truth about societal evils, who will? Are we really to be more concerned that there are some who wrongly place a political identity above their Christian identity than that there are those who rightly know their identity in Christ but don't understand the need to be the light God has called us to in society?
English

@PrestonSprinkle Sprinkle is a wolf. Barely any sheep's clothing remaining.
Consider his posts in that appropriate context.
English

@PrestonSprinkle If a Christian votes for a Democrat, they have sinned.
English

@PrestonSprinkle Are people still saying this is 2024? Yawn
English

Save the accusations - save your breath for the occult - the perverted - the pedophiles - child & human trafficking - tired of you WEAK Christians with your false concerns as if GOD isn’t concern about activities outside church walls. Government has a lot to do with enabling of sinful wickedness
English

@PrestonSprinkle A bigger challenge for the Church is apostates in sheep's clothing and compromised leaders pushing Side B theology and the attendance at sodomy-based "wedding" ceremonies.
English

@PrestonSprinkle We have a duty to vote & to advocate for just laws developed from a biblical worldview. If a particular party or candidate exemplifies devotion to stated duty, then I am obliged to support them. Apostates see this Christian predilection, and lead many astray in a grab for power.

@PrestonSprinkle Says the dude who makes a living worshipping the idol of LGBTQ+.
English

@PrestonSprinkle Do you level this charge against BLM and climate cultistists? Or just conservatives?
English

@PrestonSprinkle Ah, voter season. The time when there's finger wagging at conservative Christians who sound too Republican ("political idolaters"), while voices *urge* us to "do better" by making room for Democrats, their policies, & candidates. It's sneaky, but many are seeing it now.

I respectfully disagree
While in Exile, Daniel and many of the other Hebrews were high-ranking statesmen in the political sphere
There is no indication in scripture that this is inherently idolatry or compromising the faith. There certainly is a way to do it that honors God and it certainly is possible to make it idolatrous. But there's no indication that Christians need to forgo political involvement
To the contrary, some of the most powerful influences throughout Church history have been Christians in positions of political power
In the American system that looks *very* different, but its certainly possible and I think in many ways it is a wise thing to do
Certainly is good stewardship of the good gift that God has given us
I'd be interested in continuing to dialogue on this if you're up for it
English

@PrestonSprinkle This is silly. Use your judgment as a Christian and make a decision. Not that hard.
English

@PrestonSprinkle I think we will see some clear fault lines in the church this year.
English

@PrestonSprinkle "Is this political idolatry here with us in this thread?"
English

@PrestonSprinkle What you really mean is too many people in church voting for the wrong candidate.
So get bent, loser.
English

@PrestonSprinkle This is the a cowardly and godless form of weakness.
English

I am not entirely sure you understand how our political system works? Our system is a republic, you are the power. You and those you elect. Thus your vote and what you advocate for matters.
Your vote is a resource you steward. Just like money, or talent, or anything else God has given you charge of. Poor stewardship is sin.
God put us in this time and this place to represent Him and to do His work, just as he did Daniel, and Joseph and many others. So we stand for position like, pro-life, pro-family, and pro-religious liberty. The only way to advocate for those issues from a biblical perspective is to participate in the processes of our system.
How to advocate for those positions in the system and the public square is an aspect of discipleship: how do we apply God’s Word to life? It is not the majority of Spiritual Formation but it is certainly a part of it.
I hope your ultimate explanation goes further and you encourage people to be good stewards of what is entrusted to them.

English

@PrestonSprinkle “Political idolatry” for those who want to vote and advocate for good leaders, righteous laws and godly justice. Nothing to say about baby killers and people who burn down cities? “We have no need to answer you in this matter.” Dan 3:16
English

@PrestonSprinkle Absolutely. Progressive "Christianity" is a form of idolatry
English

@PrestonSprinkle Where do you get the idea we are exiles in Babylon? We are called to be salt and light in the world. This is how we lose our religious freedom. Of course no party or politician is above King Jesus.
English

@PrestonSprinkle One of the greatest challenges facing the church today is institutional capture by leftist propaganda.
