Ok Europe, you are going to have to pick one: 1. Its unusually hot and you aren’t used to it 2. It’s always hot and actually hotter than the US (contradiction of #1) 3. Your homes are built to “retain heat” but not cold, weird if #2 is true 4. You just can’t afford AC

@Watchmakermaker Everyone I know in Europe who complains about the heat 100000% can afford a mini split or portable unit at minimum. They're just cranky they have to get one.

@Watchmakermaker @trumwill Europe is too general. Greece has near universal AC, more so than NY despite being quite a bit poorer than anywhere in the US and buildings not built to retain heat

@Watchmakermaker @mrs_alyse 4 is because 1. Not cost effective. 3 doesn't work unless the system is flawless, which it isn't. In winter, we're adding heat internally that we want to leave as slowly as possible. In summer, that heat still gets through slowly (plus electronics), then leaves just as slowly.
