a well insulated home protects from the heat, especially the direct radiation from the sun. try staying in an uninsulated shed in the summer heat, or your parked car without ac for that matter.

People of the UK are so weird. Like there is an obvious solution but they refuse to use it. It's not expensive either. Also when you are outside carry a bottle of water with you to stay hydrated.
