International management comes to FM26 May 26th. Whole post feels a bit odd, like they're trying not to hype it up at all. Not sure if it's managing expectations and not wanting to overpromise, or if the update will be disappointing. Guess we will find out soon.

@WorkTheSpace My expectation was for it to run alongside club football like in previous games. I read a few weeks ago that it might be a separate game mode. Like a challenge made with a pre selected squad. Think this might be true?

@WorkTheSpace Also I feel like speaking about the new game immediately after talking about how the current game is not in a state that people happy with seems quite tone deaf

@WorkTheSpace Had it been really good I think they would have tried to charge for it, that was probably the intention of this in the first place but the issues they have had have backed them into a corner. As a result they've probably scaled it back to focus on 27

@WorkTheSpace The post was mostly an apology. That's a bad sign, even if you hate FM26 (like I do). SI has done little bit apologize for the last 2 years.

@WorkTheSpace I think we all know the likely answer, Jack. The post almost implies we will be disappointed! Recognition for previous failures is welcome, but difficult for them not to acknowledge them.

They’re not hyping it up imo because they’re not doing what we want. I want it to be like the old careers where I can manage international, club and international, or just club. They’re making it seem like “World Cup 2026” will be its own mode with the qualified teams and players on the rosters. Which is extremely disappointing

@WorkTheSpace I think hyping it up would just be wrong at this point, everything FM26 needs a pinch of salt - they basically say it's the incomplete version of international management and they want all our feedback so no matter what it's worth it to make the next iteration better sooner

@WorkTheSpace The only difference I suspect that will be present in comparison to older FMs is the fact that there will be licensing. Everything else is more than likely going to be the same.

@WorkTheSpace I believe it's more managing expectations than the latter , due to ad hoc decisions they had to make fixing FM26

@WorkTheSpace Certainly sounds like the international update isn't as big as originally planned so it definitely sounds like they trying to lower expectations as they attempt to build back trust come FM27s release. Hopefully the update at least brings something for those few who still playing

@WorkTheSpace Unrelated but I'm surprised that people aren't throwing up a fuss that after two iterarions VAR still does not function correctly, the fact you can tell what the decision is going to be based on the players body language makes the feature totally redundant

@WorkTheSpace Not remotely defending them as it’s been a cluster fook but miles usually over eggs it and everyone moans when it’s not at the levels egged on. This time he’s measured and everyone moans again. Can’t win. Literally.

@WorkTheSpace They just acknowledged the negative backlashed provoked by an unfinished FM26. They know they'll have to work hard to win back the fans so they do not want to bet on this update to do so. FM27 release will be that moment
