Bola Ahmed Tinubu@officialABAT·
My fellow Nigerians, Today, I address you with a sense of responsibility, as we navigate through these times. The protests, which turned violent in some parts of our nation, have caused unimaginable pain and loss, particularly to the families of those who have tragically lost their lives. Our nation’s resources are stretched thin as we rebuild what has been destroyed. As your President, I am committed to ensuring public order and protecting the lives and property of every Nigerian. We must come together, suspending further protests, and embrace dialogue for the sake of our nation’s unity and progress. Despite the challenges, our government is making significant strides. We have doubled government revenues by blocking leakages and introducing automation, reduced debt service, and launched major infrastructure projects. Initiatives like the Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, the MSME Hubs, and the Renewed Hope City and Estate projects aim to improve the quality of life for all Nigerians. To drive down the cost of food and medicines, I have ordered the suspension of duties on critical food items and medical supplies for the next six months, in the first instance, while I can also confirm to you that billions of Naira worth of tractors and planting equipment purchased from US, Brazil and Belarus, are already on the way to our country. We have also shown our commitment to the youth with programs like the student loan scheme and the Digital and Creative Enterprises initiative, which will create millions of jobs. Let us choose hope over fear, unity over division, and progress over stagnation. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come. Forward Ever, Backward Never! Thank you for your attention, and may God bless our great nation

@officialABAT When Good luck Jonathan removed fuel subsidy in 2012 and fuel price hiked to N147 per litre, Nigerians including president Tinubu protested, He listened to them and reversed the price of fuel to N87 per litre.

Fuel is the crucial component of this country, But if they have better plans of refining it in-house , we will have a better value for the Fuel, removing subsidies will only bring down the price but not bring in the real resources that will later bring in revenue not only to the country but to the Value of our Currency 💵! Simple

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT With due respect to former president Good luck, he agreed to reverse the pump price due to fear and selfish interest of winning the second term bid.

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT That's true and Tinubu has to do the same. There's no amount of speech he will give that will make sence if he doesn't do the right things

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT This is what the protest of today is all about. Put back the subsidy but if it's to stand, fuel shouldn't be more than N300-N350.

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT Tribalism Na it go kpai this country finally. The Yorubas supporting this hunger just because he's a Yoruba man. The Hausa seriously protesting because the president is not an Hausa man. The Igbos are so happy about the present condition of the country.

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT After he listened what later became the adverse effects? Borrowing upon borrowing and borrowing. Jonathan didn't inherit debt from Obj but he ended up with 10b Dollars debt. His listen was a mistake & weakness not progressive. Such shouldn't repeat itself. Subsidy is gone

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT There's an adage in my culture, that until you carry a keg of wine and a keg of water, you wouldn't know which is heavier. Like 7up advert was aptly captured, "the difference is clear".

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT Jonathan wasn't borrowing to fund fuel subsidy, the nation was generating excess revenue from crude oil. Today we've found ourselves in a situation where we have to borrow to subsidise fuel.

@Bod_repuplic @officialABAT Perfect Example! Tinubu's speech was an uninspiring one. It show that Tinubu doesn't care if people are dying. What a shame. The speech dashed our hope. Let us meet at the polls.
