Because the stakes of Jerid vs. Kamille weren't as high. Jerid has no real connection to anyone on the Argama and the AEUG in general besides Emma, whom he didn't get along with anyway. Jerid was more of a recurring obstacle than a proper rival. He was not weak, however, a (incorrect) claim that is often made about him.
