This is why I’ve never understood the desire for “realistic” superhero stories. A world with actual godlike metahumans wouldn’t just look like ours with capes, it would be completely unrecognizable.
For instance, gold would be effectively worthless in a universe where someone can literally poop it out.

@Gingerblast The only game I know of which has "don't make the player roll if there's no chance for success" as an actual rule is HERO, and even then it only applies to situations where the thing being attempted is inherently impossible.

Since the topic came up, I absolutely ask players to roll even when they can't pass. Here's why:
1. I go with RAW on this, which is nat 20 is not an auto-success
2. I don't have their stats memorized. What's impossible for one character may be possible for another
3. They may have some ability or item that can still turn their roll into a success. I don't remember everything they've picked up, that's their responsibility to keep track of, not mine

@MythicMgames The gun sway on the snipers is an acquired taste, but the ME1 shotties are peak. You just have to get past the shitty early game gear. If you have levels in shotgun, the end game ones turn into a sniper rifle, and if you don't then they're at least as a good as an ME2 Claymore.

I played the first Mass Effect for 6+ hours yesterday on stream & absolutely loved it! I’ve seen people say to either skip or just mainline it to get to ME2 quickly, but I don’t get it. There’s so much great lore & character depth in the first game. I can’t wait to keep going!🌠

Kira Nerys is such an awesome concept for a Star Trek character because not only was she the first female first officer, she also isn't from the federation so you get to have someone with a completely new viewpoint counteract the captain

Tbf a big part of why people don’t see that Clark is Superman in the comics is because they (like Lex in the movie) don’t think Superman has a secret identity. Lex thinks he already has it figured out.
He thinks he just lives as Kal El. He’s not looking for a secret identity because he can’t wrap his head around the idea that the most powerful man on earth would try to be someone completely normal in the day to day.
Guy Gardner doesn’t, for example, and Supes doesn’t wear a mask so most people assume the same thing.
