@FlaGirlKristy I stopped watching it regularly nearly a decade ago and only turn it on now when there’s a major world event going on. Turned it on a few weeks ago for the war coverage and it’s worse than ever. It’s easy to see how people that consume this stuff live in an alternate reality.

DeSantis is a fantastic governor. I don’t see him on SCOTUS. Not because he can’t do it, but because I think he’d get restless. Few are as capable at managing bureaucracy as he’s proven he can do.

I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court. On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028. That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

@PowerOwn45 It really could go either way. Things could truly nosedive with this administration to the point that anyone associated with it has no shot in ‘28 and the lane is wide open. Who knows. I just think unless they nominate the DEI queen again, Dems will have the advantage in ‘28.

I’ve made this argument in the recent past. Some things have made me rethink it, most notably DeSantis himself, who is giving me campaign vibes, but there is still a lot of merit to the argument for waiting.

@PowerOwn45 I still believe he needs to wait for ‘32. I know windows in politics can be small and fleeting, but recent polling shows that the brain rot in the GOP base is still very strong and ‘28 may be a very tough year for Republicans anyway.
