I am once again calling for unity between the divided parts of Glasgow. The time for these old rivalries dictating who you are stops NOW. We all grew up together on the same streets. They might not have been the cleanest or the safest at times, but we had COMMUNITY. We had each other. We’d fall out for 90 minutes when the game was on, have a scrap after it, then be best pals again. Most of us have stories like that. "Tim" pals that went to big walks for the buzz and to be with the troops, "hun" boys that would go watch the old firm in the celtic end with their pal and shit it the whole time. If it wasn’t football, it was schemes. Now we’re older, we’re pals with boys we used to war with. The ones still militantly one side or the other need to get a grip quick. Britain is changing fast. Most of our cities will be unrecognisable soon. Full of foreign lads who came through the Calais jungle from places with very different cultures and religions. Cultures where disagreeing on faith can get you in serious trouble, even killed in some cases. People not brought up like us, who’ll lose the plot over the smallest thing, like getting knocked back for sex. The police have been told to treat them better and protect them more than us. Mention racism and all common sense goes out the window. You won’t get it till it’s you or your family that’s the victim though. Our own people and culture get pushed back and slagged off as “racist” or “colonial”. I’m sick of it and you should be too. We aren’t at war with each other in Scotland so why does it feel even more divided here than Belfast? We’ve seen over there that the two sides of the divide can come together when it matters. I am NOT calling for violence btw. Belfast is a whole different kettle of fish to glasgow. I am saying when you can put differences aside, you can actually make a difference. What links Catholics and Protestants? Christianity. You’re all brothers, children of Christ. And you know who doesn’t give a fuck about any of this? The ones coming over on planes and boats who just see us all as white Christians and hate us anyway. The iranian funded groups that advocate for more immigration of shariah cops to help fill police roles. The young ones hanging about selling crack and calling everyone “pussio” and jumping white people. We don’t need to ditch our traditions or our culture to make room for ones we don’t understand. What we need is acceptance. Acceptance that we’re Scottish, Irish, English, British. Acceptance that our way of life is under attack. Acceptance that we're deep in the shit now. We need UNITY.
