French retailer LDLC is making fun of Valve’s new Steam Machine by launching its own gaming PC called the PC STIM. For €999 (€1,039 if pre-built), the PC STIM includes: - AMD Ryzen 5 8400F processor - Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB graphics card - 16GB DDR5 RAM - 500GB NVMe SSD Standard PC parts that can be upgraded later. LDLC says that for about the same price as Valve’s Steam Machine, buyers can get a gaming PC with better graphics performance and the freedom to upgrade the hardware in the future.

Chat how we feeling about this 🤔

The "my PC outperforms the Steam Machine" living room:

People be like "Valve can't subside the Steam Machine, because the majority of people will install windows, and then exclusively use Epic Games, or torrent"

I love Steam, but $1,349 is getting into “build a really nice gaming PC” territory. The Steam Machine has to offer something special beyond convenience. Am I missing something here?
