Again look it up. Also you're now arguing that they are "literally exactly" the same tech. You are moving the goal post and somewhat changing topics. Also you should know Model Ys that are Robotaxis do not have the same tech as the consumer grade. Also the argument you are making is scaling. I'm saying if they would scale they would of already but haven't. Also again you keep missing the part where they use validation with LiDAR and have a Geofence. Your "can work anywhere" argument doesn't work here because it's not in effect.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev different version numbers don’t make them different tech silly… Youre saying the Model Ys being used in robotaxis have better cameras? If so that just benefits my argument because it means that the evidence that my car works as well as it does without premapping …

This is an ignorant and uninformed take. First of all, LiDAR doesn’t work better in rain or snow than pure vision. If you understand how LiDAR works, you would know that. Recently, Waymo halted operations in San Antonio because “The Waymos were driving into large bodies of water.” They still have not resumed service there. Waymo is also under investigation for blowing past stopped school buses and speeding in school zones. Self-driving is not a sensor suite problem; it is an AI problem, and FSD is already on the same level as Waymo. Tesla is giving paid driverless rides in 3 cities and expanding. These people won’t get it until Tesla has more robotaxis on the road than Google does, and that could very well be by the end of this year, 2026. And yes, I do like what Waymo is doing. My point is people are still doubting Tesla Robotaxi even though it exists and is running every day!

.@a16z's @aleximm says Waymo is "significantly ahead" compared to Tesla FSD when it comes to safety: "We love Elon." "Critics would say that LiDAR provides more data and has better performance in adverse weather like fog, snow, rain." "We believe the Waymo approach today is clearly safer." " That said—if you look at FSD, and the publicly available data, they have shown significant improvement. The slope is promising."

@JamesDoThings @OverlyTrev They are not "literally exactly" the same tech. They have different softwares and different camera types (higher quality) on the Robotaxi. Don't believe me? The Internet is your friend.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev Tesla has most definitely not validated the places I take my Tesla. There arent waymos driving anywhere unless its been mapped. Really wish youd quit playing dumb. Tesla hasnt scaled YET, they CAN scale easily because the tech works without maps. PLEASE read this several times.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev “work anywhere” means it doesnt require premapping, dope. Waymo requires premapping. of course if waymo hires millions of people to jeep the entire country mapped every week it can work as well as Tesla.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev Dude I am talking about SCALING. Tesla mass produces these cars that are capable. Waymo has to retrofit each one manually, then they have to go premap each area. I am talking about EASE OF SCALE, why do you keep arguing other points?

If your "work anywhere" argument is for Tesla then this means it can pretty much work with Waymo and others as well. Waymo has proven this. In fact it's the reason they are in so many cities right now. As mentioned again Tesla needs to use validation. So it is somewhat using pre-mapping data for their Robotaxis. If it's so true Tesla Robotaxis can do fine wherever why do they have a geofence then? Hmmm...

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev Do you know what the phase “scaling” means in this context? The tech in Tesla is proven to “work anywhere”. The tech in Waymos have not proven this. That is what I mean that Teslas will scale better as they wont have to pre-map tiny chunks of cities like they and Waymo do now.

How will it scale faster when it's already proving to be a slow roll out? Also you have to remember not everyone will be willing to have their car be a Robotaxi. It sounded like you were saying it was perfect. This is based on previous comments such as... "Waymos require pre-mapping" like if that's somehow a big downfall when Robotaxi uses validation via LiDAR.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev I was talking about how Robotaxi will scale better and how its obvious when you have one. You were acting Like I was claiming it was perfect, when I wasnt.

You’re going to need to sit down for this one. Burglars in Los Angeles are reportedly using the nine cameras on Tesla vehicles parked in neighborhoods to monitor when homeowners leave and return, giving them a clear window of opportunity to target homes when no one is there.

It absolutely doesn't matter. You need to understand what data gathering is and what it means when there's more of such vehicles to gather more data. You think there's enough Robotaxis to just say 'oh yeah they're prefect'...? No there isn't. Once there's more there will be issues popping up just like with Waymo. To think there will be no issues and to think Robotaxi is perfect is laughable.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev oh but it does matter. if youve not been in one, you believe all the fud online, but when youve been in one, you experience first hand how well it works. And how well it works in the real world, not a demo track.

@JamesDoThings @OverlyTrev This does not matter on weather someone has been in a Tesla. Wait till it scales and we will really see how it does. It's quite simple. Also on the terms of Tesla not needed expensive Retrofit. Lots of people including me like redundancy rather than the only camera approach.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev How can I say that? because if youve ever been in a Tesla you know it works pretty much everywhere without pre-mapping. Waymos require premapping, as far as Im aware. Plus, Tesla dont need the expensive retrofit. they work as mass produced. these are OBVIOUS reasons.

@JamesDoThings @OverlyTrev Again Robotaxi has not scaled. How can you say it's better than Waymo when we haven't even seen how Robotaxi act in the masses. "Robotaxi scales way better" yeahhhh right... 😂 Again. Wait till we see more Robotaxis on the road and the more problems you will see.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev Youre saying people who say Robotaxi is better than Waymo are stans. Robotaxi has been proven all ready to operate better than waymos as far as autonomous driving goes. Robotaxi scales way better than Waymos, no city by city manual mapping is needed long term, which is the point.

@TechGeekAnthony @OverlyTrev I regularly see videos of other robotaxis making silly mistakes like running red lights. that objectively puts it in at least just as good as robotaxi.

Word that Waymo is supposed to resume service this week in San Antonio. It is now Wednesday and service is still paused.
