NOT A BAD ARTICLE. It’s not our fault that you don’t believe God is the creator of all, and His truths are present even in Paganism, as Paul literally tells us. 😂😂😂 The article argues that reflecting on the Hindu understanding of Shiva—especially his role as a “destroyer”—can deepen a Catholic understanding of Lent as a process of spiritual destruction leading to renewal. ⸻ 1. Reframing “Destruction” as Spiritual Good •In Hinduism, Shiva is not a malicious destroyer but a benevolent one. •His “destruction” targets: •illusion •ego •harmful habits •This destruction is necessary for transformation, like shedding old skin. 👉 Key insight: Destruction is not opposed to goodness—it is often the precondition for renewal. ⸻ 2. Parallel in Biblical Theology The author argues this idea is not foreign to Christianity: •God “destroys” in Scripture: •the flood (purification) •the plagues (liberation) •Most importantly: •Christ’s death → resurrection 👉 Therefore, Christianity already contains a pattern: destruction → purification → new life ⸻ 3. Lent as “Destruction of Attachments” Using Ignatius of Loyola: •Sin is framed as “inordinate attachments” •These include: •wealth, power, identity, success, etc. Lent becomes: •a season of intentional destruction •removing what competes with God 👉 Not just “giving things up,” but: cutting away what blocks love of God and neighbor ⸻ 4. Shiva as a Symbolic Lens for Lent Shiva provides a helpful analogy: •destroys ego (snake imagery) •enables transformation •makes way for something new This mirrors Lent: •fasting = destruction of appetite •penance = destruction of disordered desires •repentance = destruction of false self 👉 The comparison is analogical, not theological equivalence (the author explicitly notes Hinduism ≠ Catholicism)

It's not murder. It is asserting our inalienable right to not have our bodies used against our will. "No right is held more sacred or is more carefully guarded by the common law than the right of every individual to the possession and control of his own person, free from all restraint or interference of others . . . ~ U. S. Supreme Court ~

It took 11 years defending himself over one story. This is what they do to people who hold them accountable. Nobody is held accountable because the people who have the power to do so are afraid of the retaliation. But David is different. His love of truth was greater than his regard for himself.

@IanDaKitchen @nathanweisser @daksims Location matters. Like it or not. If you are standing in your house, you are safe and secure. But if you have no food and go to your neighbors house for nourishment, you may get shot.

Anyone have the Moloch/abortion meme/cartoon with a woman sacrificing her child to have a career? Thought I bookmarked it but can't find it.

@penelopedidit2 @nathanweisser @daksims Similarities: - Both human - Both 100% dependent on parents PHYSICAL care for survival Differences: - Size - Location (inside / outside womb) - Nature of physical connection You hate small, weak, vulnerable people and you lobby for their destruction. Admit it. You aren't dumb.

That's funny. They are two totally different things. A two year old is not physically connected to someone else's body and using that body's resources to maintain life. A two year oldest body is independent from any other body. Stop giving this scenario. You aren't that dumb, I'm sure.

NBA Player Daniel Gafford was asked about his shirt that says "Faith isn’t for the weak." He said it’s not for the weak but he doesn’t want to be waived like Jaden Ivey so he would not expand further on the meaning. The @NBA is stifling Christian speech.

🚨 In 2023 Kevin Porter Jr. was arrested on felony charges of strangulation of his girlfriend and plead guilty to charges. The NBA issued Porter Jr a 4 game suspension. Jaden Ivey, proclaimed Christianity and was released by the Bulls for "Conduct Detrimental" to the team.

The conduct they are claiming is detrimental is Christianity. They fired Jaden Ivey for being Christian. Worth noting the Bulls didn’t fire Ronnie Brewer after he was arrested for DUI. Or Joakim Noah after he was arrested for possession of drugs. When Jameson Curry was arrested for public urination and then resisted arrest, the Bulls suspended him for one game, but also refused to fire him for his conduct. Christianity is apparently where the Chicago Bulls draw the line.
